BLACK+DECKER String Trimmer Line, .08-inch Replacement Spool (DF-080)

The Black & Decker DF-080 Dual-Line .080 inch Replacement Spools Worked Perfectly!!When I first bought my GRASSHOG XP I had some difficulty in rewinding the spool with .080 inch nylon Trimmer Line. Rewinding a spool accurately is difficult and requires skill and experience. Despite my best efforts I was never able to rewind the spool accurately and as a result the trimmer line often snagged from time to time forcing me to open up the housing to make adjustmnts to get it going again.I believe many of your customers are having the same problem I have experienced. Though the machine is an excellent machine particularly with the automatic trimmer line feed feature many of your customers may decide as a result of the difficulty in rewinding spools to discard it and go for another make of machine instead of purchasing costly replacement spools. I assume your replacement spools are wound by machine. To avoid loss of customers I suggest you should have a video that shows how to manually rewind spools accurately or alternatively develop Drawings for a simple and in-expensive tool for rewinding spools which can be manafactured by yourself for sale to your customers or which can be made by your customers themselves.Best Regards,Christopher Ache'

The DF-80 Spool with 30 feet of .080-Inch ROUND line is the perfect match for your B&D GrassHog GH1000 !!There are many types/brands of string-trimmer lines -- some of which have irregular shapes, supposedly to make the string cut better -- but the irregularly-shaped lines get jammed in the spool, making it necessary to stop trimming and monkey around with getting the string un-tangled and re-wound on the spool. The B&D Spool has ROUND LINE wound on it, which works much better than any of the odd-shaped lines that I've tried in the past.The B&D DF-80 Spool feeds smoothly and remains tangle-free -- BUT -- only if we avoid trying to edge too close to concrete, stones, and other immovable debris.The string trimmer is made to cut down GRASS and WEEDS -- coming in contact with concrete will tear up the line in a matter of seconds, so it must be avoided as much as possible.If we choose to buy bulk line and wind it ourselves to save big dollars, we MUST be careful to buy ONLY .080, ROUND Line -- and wind it carefully.Good Luck !!

I have had my weed eater for 3 years.... 2 of which I could not use, because I could not find the replacement reels. I tried to use the self wind but after reading many, many reviews.... we have learned that that won't work. So after finding these on Amazon, thought I would try before buying a new weed eater... and they worked.... YEA! I would have given a 5 star but they are pricy.

exactly what i needed

I had a Grass Hog 600. It broke 4 times during the 2 yr warranty and used .065 line which is small. I got a good deal on a Grass Hog 1000 because next time the GH600 broke it was out of warranty and history.The GH10000 is a far superior product in reliability, and cutting ability. It uses .080 line which is heavier for more cutting ability of larger weeds but it is wound in 2 parts and so unlike the GH600, it is really difficult for me to wind the spools using bulk line.The picture accompanying this item is incorrect. It shows a different spool. These spools are genuine B&D , Black spool with Green line. These are a good buy especially if you get several at a time to offset shipping cost.

I'm not impressed by their longevity or durability. Makes me feel like I'm renting the electrical trimmer that I "own". They're not always the easiest to replace either, god forbid you drop and have to double re-spool it. I suppose it could be worse so I'm giving this just ok product an ok rating.

Item is great. Unavailable in home depot or lowes.
