Really a good product to flavor my hummus, a tablespoon does the trick. Lasts a long time in the refrigerator. Do need to stir it up from time to time, the liquid oil and the solids tend to separate. Even when thick at the bottom of the jar maintains its fresh flavor.

The tub was wrapped well in shrinkwrap, no leakage of tub. The tahini is smooth and creamy - not oily - and required only a little stirring before I put it in ziplok bags to store most of it *flat* in the freezer.

My daughter and I make hummus at least once a week and the tahini makes a huge difference in taste and texture, so we've tried a handful of different brands over the last year and so far this is our favorite. It has a great flavor and the consistency is smooth and well blended. There is some minor separation of the oil but it's easily stirred back in. With some brands the tahini has turned to a hard paste and is very difficult to stir back in, but not this one!

I use tahini in hummus and assorted sauces. This is hulled raw sesame tahini, tastes fresh, and worked well in my hummus. It does separate, so it needs to be stirred before use. The only down-side was that I ran out, so I ordered it in July. When it arrived, the jar was actually too hot to comfortably handle, WAAAAY hotter than the outdoor temperature at the time of delivery. Delivery Trucks that are not climate controlled can get extremely hot during Southwest Summers, and items transported in those trucks will be as hot as the truck insides, so think 110F outside temp, temps inside enclosed vehicles that are not climate controlled can run upwards of 160F within an hour, so, not good for lots of things. It does come in glass (+++) so you don't have to worry about plastic off-gassing due to high temperatures, but that kind of temperature for extended periods of time can cause products to "cook". (the several hours from the time it is loaded on the truck until it is dropped off at your door). Add this to the list of things to stock up on before the summer heat sets in 😁.

I expected this to taste strong and bitter but I found the opposite to be true. The flavor is very smooth and the texture is very creamy.

I use a couple of Tablespoons before bedtime, and it satisfies my hunger and helps me sleep through the night. Great product.

Kevala is an okay tahini: the taste is average and fairly mild and it makes for a decent hummus. The big problem is that the oil separates from “butter” and it is all but impossible to remix them together. Your only option is to put the tahini in a blender to reconstitute it. For me, it’s not worth the effort - I’ll just get Soom or Baron’s.

I've bought this brand in smaller size many times in the past and been satisfied. But decided to order this larger size this time for the savings. I'm terribly concerned that the rubber ring inside the lid (for leak proofing) contaminates the contents because where the tahini touches the rubber, it gets a sharp bitter taste. I won't order this size again in the future.
