Perfect with abit of bending!
These brake pipes got me out of a serious pickle. With the existing pipes being fully corroded on a 2009 Golf GTI and no way to remove without breaking them, a replacement was needed. These pipes were available for same day delivery which is incredible considering every parts shop I called that day (including eurocarparts, TPS and GSF) didn’t have them in stock. Not expecting much I ordered them and they arrived and were fitted with no issues at all. Slight bends were needed to get both ends to fit properly but took little effort and abit of delicacy to ensure no breakage. After carrying out a full system brake bleed and road tests, they are holding the fluid well so far but will update if this changes.

Works, but will need some adjustment to fit
I normally make my own brake lines, but the Golf Mk5 rear ones are annoyingly short and bendy, so to be lazy I decided to go with these. First thing to say is that what you get doesn't quite match the product image, which appears to be of a set of factory pipes. The ones that arrive are uncoated and appear to be kunifer, but none the worse for that given that they're under a tenner. Second thing to say is that you *will* need to bend them further to make them fit. I went with the advice of another reviewer; remove the locking clip of the flexi pipe to give yourself that little bit of extra wiggle room, get the smaller fitting started first, then carefully bend the other end of the pipe until you can get the larger fitting to start, making very sure that it's square on to the bore so that it doesn't start to cross-thread. Then just tighten both fittings, and finally refit the clip.

A life saver!
I very rarely leave amazon reviews but these pipes really got me out of a pickle. I would highly recommend getting these if like me, you tried to remove the factory original ones and they had fused to so they ended up twisting then breaking and you need an urgent replacement (next day delivery) and you have to get to work on Monday. Fitting them was easy enough, you have to get them both started on the thread before tightening them up. The only thing i would keep an eye on is the longevity of them, they don't have the same rubberised coating the OE ones have but they're also a lot cheaper than OE so it's not too much of a problem.

Did the job

Perfect for Golf mk6.
As per usual, fixing one issue on a car can snowball. I was changing my brake pads in the rear of my Golf GTD and found the caliper had failed and piston stuck so ordered a new caliper. Went to fit the new caliper and found that this small copper brake pipe linking caliper to flexi had corroded too (and possibly the cause of caliper fail in the first place). So as this was now 4pm on a Saturday in rural Lincs, no parts shops are open and now I’m stuck with an unusable car….FFS. I just thought I’d check Amazon to see if they kept this little copper brake pipe, not expecting them to at all, yet here it is….ordered and delivered lunchtime next day (Sunday) and job done, car all sorted. Amazon saves the day again with one day delivery, now stocking quite bespoke car parts. Perfect fit and good quality for anyone with a Goof mk5 or mk6.

Not exact shape but can work if careful.
Bought for a VW Touran 2005 model. Original pipes always shear off when trying to remove - as I found out. These were not an exact match as they had to be slightly forced into position causing another slight bend to be made. Doing this slowly and carefully caused no problems for me but I can easily imagine someone rushing the job and causing some damage easily. The trick is to place the smaller 10mm top end into the braided brake pipe first without the retaining clip attached. Then manipulate the lower bigger screw slowly into the calliper itself. Be careful here as it is going to be easy to cross thread. Once actually started into the calliper properly, then attach the retaining clip to the rubber brake pipe and then attach the whole calliper and tighten into the carrier. After this, tighten up the pipe fully and it will shape and seat itself properly into the caliper and rubber pipe. Again, do not force it too much but also do not be too afraid to work the pipe a bit into place as it is quite easily bent into shape and get seated properly. If it should break, my advice would be to use the 2 screw in ends and make up a copper brake pipe yourself in the exact shape. The original ones cannot be used in this manner as they are factory machine made and not flared in the traditional way.
