Cult of Chaos: An Anantya Tantrist Mystery

Now, truthfully, I don't enjoy gory descriptions, and I was particularly happy I finished reading well before midnight as my own imagination can make the tamest of horror stories and moments into heart-attack inducing visions of fright. But this book was marvelously researched and I loved Anantya and the other characters introduced in this book; and I was also pretty upset when (semi-spoiler alert!) one of them died, and brutally (and that was when he had a pretty minor amount of page-time devoted to him too :( ).So if you're someone who's into ancient magic and supernatural beings in a wonderfully contemporary setting, a pretty gory mystery, and a pretty bad-ass and resourceful protagonist, then you'll probably enjoy this book.

Pre ordered the book since I was very impressed with the author's earlier work in 'The Skull Rosary' and had been waiting for this to be published. Very happy that this book stood up to the anticipation and is a pretty enjoyable read. The author builds the tantrik universe convincingly and the characters are interesting, though many of them underdeveloped. The cheeky names of couple of them would surely bring a smile to your face. All in all a good read and would surely recommend it.

I am not much an adept of mythological fiction but I was pleasantly surprised the way this thriller present the tantric practices in a contemporary context. She has beautifully carved the character of Anantya and interestingly narrates her detective adventures. Looking forward to the sequel!'

Absolutely gripping read which leaves you wanting more.Taneja creates a whole new fantasy world from age old mythological show characters which we hadn't quite imagined this way and brings them to life with tantrism.A detective based thriller which stays true to its genre. Buy. Read.
