Only if I am holding it and looking very close can I see teeny tiny pinpoints of light. And that's after a full eight hours of bright hot Florida sunshine.<<< My fault I'm sure but I was expecting to look out and see glowing star shapes. But actually it's just an arrangement of little lights. I'm attaching a photo of how mine looks from my kitchen window, the window is just glass no screen. The lights are about 10 - 12 feet away. I mean it's nice, and it looks good in the day, but I thought it would look different.

I only gave this a three star rating on durability because my experience with these types of wind chimes is the solar panel gets wiped out by our very intense Idaho sunshine. Every one of these devices has only lasted 2-3 years because the solar panel gets so faded out it stops functioning. I have tried new rechargeable batteries thinking maybe they were the issue but that has not fixed the issue. A bit disappointed that a device intended to be out in the sun does not hold up to that environment. I just figure for less than $20 I just replace them when they stop working. I do not leave them out all year as well but only put them out in late Spring until the weather gets cold in the Fall. They are very nice when they are working and that makes them worth the cost.

Well, I love the lights. That is, once we got them up. The string/cord that holds the item in place for hanging was insufficient. The knot had come loose and there isn't enough of the cord to make another knot. When we were able to make a knot, it immediately fell out. And if we were make a knot higher up on the cord, it would unbalance the unit. So we very delicately made a knot and superglued it. We did this at both ends of the cord in question. I don't know how long it will last, but the lights stay lit for the entire night it seems. They are very pretty and I love them. So it's hard to review this as the lights are a 5 star, but the quality of the unit is a 1 star.

They are great but just dont stay on. The battery on these cant be replaced. I thought they were solar which they say they are, however they stop lighting even with full sun. I sent mine back and got a full refund. they would be great if it had American batteries in them!

This is an updated review. Although I initially loved these color changing wind chimes because they did say they were for the outdoors and waterproof, which at this point I doubt, I even bought another one as a gift. But mine lasted less than a year! :( Not sure about the other one I gave as a gift. I do still have 2 Stars that stay lit at night. And I even changed the battery, which that whole process wasn't easy. How unfortunate. I gave it 2 stars just because it is pretty during the day without the color changing lights. But that is not why I purchased it.
