Review: Difficult to mix to suitable consistency, not very strong either - The mixing with water to get the right consistency is not easy. I first mixed a small quantity (table spoon). That didn't want to mix at all into a paste. It kept separating. I then used a larger quantity. That mixed OK eventually but was too runny. Added more powder and got it there eventually. It dried whitish in colour. Adhesive strength was not great either. I hit the top piece of wood with a hammer and bond broke immediately (too brittle). I'm now using Sika Concrete Fix, which turned out to be the best glue ever for any material. Can sand it and paint it, is waterproof and doesn't shrink. Same price as Cascamite. ## Features - Cascamite One Shot Structural Wood Adhesive Tub 220g - Polyvine - Accessories - storage: Store in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly closed - The date mentioned on the product was the manufacture date ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0001OZI98 | | Best Sellers Rank | #262,919 in Tools & Home Improvement ( See Top 100 in Tools & Home Improvement ) #127 in Wood Glue | | Brand | Polyvine | | Brand Name | Polyvine | | Color | White | | Colour | White | | Compatible Material | Wood | | Container Type | Pail | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 107 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00729870010451 | | Item Form | Powder | | Item Package Quantity | 1 | | Item Type Name | Wood Adhesives | | Item Weight | 0.25 Kilograms | | Item form | Powder | | Manufacturer | Cascamite | | Material | Resin | | Material Type | Resin | | Model | CAS220G | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Other Special Features of the Product | Waterproof | | Part Number | CAS220G | | Special features | Waterproof | | Specific Uses For Product | Wood | | Specific uses for product | Wood | | UPC | 729870010451 | | Unit Count | 250 Grams | | Viscosity Level | Medium | | Volume | 220 Milliliters | | Water Resistance Level | Waterproof | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Polyvine - **Item form:** Powder - **Material:** Resin - **Special features:** Waterproof - **Specific uses for product:** Wood ## Images ![Cascamite Adhesive Powdered Resin Wood Glue, Weatherproof, Strong bond, Used for Joinery, Cabinetmaking, and General Woodworking - 250g - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71CNLwXo6kL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is ths the best glue to fill in a gap due to a poorly made wood mortise joint? Is it better than epoxy?** A: I think epoxy would work better **Q: Can it be stained?** A: I have not be successful with it accepting stain **Q: Is this pva based or a remake of an older glue that contains casein? thank you in advance for your help.** A: I am not a chemist but...in the older days plastic resin glue which was a powder mixed with water became water proof. That product is still made but is no longer waterproof. This glue is similar to the older version with the exception it is more perishable. **Q: What is the difference between cascamite and dap plastic resin glue?** A: They are both powdered urea formaldehyde resin glues that mix with water. The biggest difference I see between the two is that the Cascamite dries clear while the DAP dries to a light brown color. I chose to use the Cascamite because the glue lines are virtually invisible. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Strong bond *by E***S on 25 October 2025* Only wish I could find it in larger size. ### ⭐⭐ Difficult to mix to suitable consistency, not very strong either *by R***K on 27 December 2020* The mixing with water to get the right consistency is not easy.
