Shiatsu Theory and Practice

I must say for the price...when I opened my package I was really expecting a much larger book....so I got that burning sick feeling in my stomach...then...I opened the book...and my woozy feeling went away quickly as I began to thumb through the pages. I am 5 chapters in...the text is fantastic. This is a great intro to shiatsu and also includes a good size section on the TCM theories from which shiatsu comes...so all and all..the more I get into the book the more I have enjoyed it...two thumbs up and definitely 5 star!!!

This book was my teacher's suggestion for my first steps in zen shiatsu and it gathers all the details that a practitioner needs. It arrives with a very helpfull dvd and it should be in the libraries of every student in shiatsu.

Carola Beresford's third edition of her wonderful book includes internet access through Evolve - I bought this book in June and immediately went on the website to investigate the resources. The experience was awkward and frustrating, my registration wasn't saved and the system made me go through the process over and over. I just checked before starting to write this review, and it's possible that it has been resolved. I was never able to find a satisfactory customer help site. In June I wrote to Carola, wondering if I was missing something, and she wrote back that she was frustrated also. As I said, it's possible now that the web issues have been resolved.

It is a good read, interesting and useful. I wish for more practical aspects of the shiatsu, like more of the hands on or practical diagnostic cases.

This book has everything you need to know to get started with Shiatsu. I love how it is organized by 5 element theory and the added emphasis on Zen Shiatsu is key. I can't recommend this book enough.

Have been taking the class and this book was on the dot. The pictures help tremendously w the practice. A must in the massage collection.

Accurate, deep and precise both in theory and practice approach. This in not a book af shiatsu, this is THE book of shiatsu. Well done!
