Skyscan Lightning/Storm Detector

Q: I have purchased 2 of theses unit and both have failed , after several years of use. The failure was only in the audible alarm. Fix anyone?

This is our second one. Our first lasted 20 years. We've had this one for over 2 and it's great. I use it in the golf cart for golfing, take it fishing and boating. It's been used a bunch especially in our pool to keep up safe from lightning. We haven't had a problem. Try a jewelry store to see if they can fix it. They have small tools for such. Good Luck.

Love my Skyscan! Living here in Fl. I use it at least 3 times a week. Q: Is it waterproof for us kayakers !

Hello, this is water resistant! It may be able to survive some time underwater but I would recommend sealing it in a clear waterproof bag while kayaking. Much like you would do when bringing your phone.
