Great addition to the Dominion Family.
Allies was the expansion I didn't know I needed! I've won more games since we got this pack than I ever have - I thought it might be too challenging for me, but it's right up my alley. So many fun elements. This is up in my top 3 Expansion packs I think.

Very fun expansion
Changes the game again as some of the other expansions have. Very fun and we like playing the same game but feels different each time. Great series. We have almost all expansions

Same Dominion Rules, Very Interesting Choices
The only real new rules and components in this expansion are the Allies deck and the Liaison card type, which give you Favor tokens to use with the Allies. Note that while this sounds like 3 new things, they are just the 3 pieces associated with the single new mechanic. And they are not complicated new additions. What makes this expansion very interesting is that even the Kingdom cards that are not directly related to Liaisons or Allies (thus, using normal Dominion rules) are written to give you very interesting options and gameplay. And this is also what makes it, as many others have commented, potentially harder for newer players to play against seasoned players. It is not that newer players can't understand the game and enjoy this expansion. It is just that players with more experience, especially with this expansion, might be able to better foresee how their choices will affect the rest of the game, thus potentially giving them an advantage. Overall, I really enjoy this new addition to the Dominion ecosystem.

Dominion Depth
I affirm what others have written about the strategic depth of this expansion when compared to others. I already own several expansions (previously Renaissance was my favorite followed by Hinterlands and Dark Ages), but I suspect Allies may make my Top 3. This is not the same ol', same ol'. The new Favor mechanics and rotating stacks add something new. Many Kingdom cards use comparable text from previous expansions, but then add a twist to it, often giving you a choice that you better make carefully and strategically. If you're wondering if yet another expansion is worth it, put Allies at the top of your list.

Happy to have a complete collection (so far.)
I'm happy that everything arrived in new condition. The only thing missing, however, was the organizer insert. I can't even find an image of one online, let alone one specifically for Allies. It's not a deal breaker, but it would have been helpful.

EXPERT set, Very good but very advanced
Possibly Dominion's best set so far, I'm extremely impressed. Do note however that this is not an easy set to play well / right. It's a fun game for people of any skill level but be aware that expert players will absolutely dominate less skilled players here, much more so than previous sets. You MUST be tracking your draw deck accurately to do well. Tons of variety here because many of the cards feature 'choose' effects, and the addition of allies / favors dramatically opens the game up to a huge amount of variables. Very good, very fun set. Experts will love the reliance on skilled play, beginners will enjoy the set if they are playing against equally skilled beginners. Highly recommended, but especially for serious Dominion players.
