I am so excited about the look of this fan! It is perfect and very low profile for our low ceiling nursery room. The fan we replaced did not have a remote, so that will take a bit of getting used to, but not having the pull chain hanging down helps my husband from walking into it all the time AND it looks so much more appealing. I did take someone else's advice about having the Hunter logo face AWAY from the door and I am so happy I did, its a little large and in silver with black, it stands out a lot.Ok so onto the install. This is fairly easy as long as you have a basic idea of how electrical wiring works. White to white, green to green, etc. PLEASE make sure you have the circuit breaker off so you don't electrocute yourself! It took my husband about 60-90 minutes to install the whole thing. The directions were simple and easy to follow.We tried to test that the fan was working once that portion was installed. Keep in mind, the lights were not hooked up yet, so it was NOT a complete circuit. We found out, the unit does NOT function unless the entire thing is put together. We spent a solid 20 minutes up and down the stairs and adjusting wires. So avoid the hassle and install the whole thing and hope for the best! If you need to take parts off, it really isn't that hard.My husband installed the fan blades without the washers and I was worried they would be extra noisy, but no issue. Once we got it all together, we discovered the remote was NOT paired like it was supposed to be. No big issue, the directions tell you exactly what to do, we followed them and it worked great.Lastly, I thought the lights were supposed to be dimmable, however. they are not. I saw some other reviews suggest how to make them dimmable, I will try those steps and update. Our fan is on a dimmable dial instead of a switch, so I'm wondering if that is part of the problem.Overall, this fan looks modern and updated. The install was fairly simple and was easily done with one person (I was very good at supervising). The various fan speeds are great, I can't imagine we would ever use the high function, it literally created WIND in the small room! The fan is quiet, even without washers to hold the blades in place and the light is bright but not annoyingly so. I would definitely recommend and I am planning on slowly replacing all the fans in our home with these!!

While the fan was straight-forward to install, looks great, and worked well (until it didn't), there is a major flaw in that the remote receivers in these fans consistently fail. This is the small green box within the fan body that receives the input from the remote control. Check the reviews on the Hunter website and you will see dozens of the same story.Initially, my fan worked normally (although mine only gets minor use). A few months after installing, the light began to randomly dim/brighten/flicker. Then a few months later, it stopped working all together—no fan, no light. I finally got around to opening up the fan, to test the wiring/connections which checked out fine. I then removed the receiver and wired the fan directly and it worked, making it apparent that the receiver was bad.I contacted Hunter customer service, and they were responsive. After confirming the problem was the receiver, and providing my proof-of-purchase, they let me know that because this item was out of warranty (1 year for all parts outside of the motor), I would have to purchase a new receiver for $55, which is over 1/3 the price I paid for the entire fan.So now I am considering purchasing an aftermarket remote kit or ditching this fan all together. I have been happy with previous Hunter fans, so it is disappointing that they are knowingly selling defective products and and profiting when they go bad.

I installed two of these ceiling fans, and I'm generally satisfied with them. I needed a fan that didn't drop too far down from my ceilings (which aren't very tall, about 8'), had more than one light fixture (given that so many fans today can't handle high-wattage lights), and also had a remote. These look nice, and they're a good value. Perhaps most importantly, they work well as fans.The instructions were clear, so that helped the installation along. I'd never installed a fan before, but this went fairly smoothly (though I'm sure it helped that I was replacing existing fans). The main thing that stops me from giving five stars is the remote. Sometimes I have to hold it quite close to the fan for it to work, and I don't have very large rooms. I'm not sure why that is the case - sometimes turning it on is very easy, but turning it off is more difficult. Or vice versa, it's a bit annoying. It also didn't come with a remote holder, so I got a 3D printed one elsewhere on Amazon.
