The Monarch's Mate: An Alien Breeder Romance (The House of Kaimar) Paperback – November 11, 2019

I loved this book! The heroine was amazing, and the hero was delicious. Our hero was sizzlingly dominant in bed, with a habit of both telling and showing the heroine how devoted he was to her almost from the beginning. He said the most swooningly romantic things to her in his native language. Our heroine was brave, stubborn, and unflinchingly honest and emotionally brave. She had a grumpy, crusty exterior which just thinly coated the loving marshmallow woman inside. She was loyal and kind with the women around her. She never hesitated to jump into danger to protect others. This is one of my favorite romance novel heroines I have read in some time. The plot was also exciting, with the political intrigue and kidnapping and assassination attempts that occurred almost non-stop in the novel with the oncoming war and the Purist threat from within. There was never a dull moment in this novel. The romance element was really well balanced with the sci-fi element and the exciting plot, in my opinion. This novel also had a very satisfying full-blown HEA with mating and marriage, with baby on the way for the heroine. There are few things I value as highly in a romance novel as an unapologetically full blown HEA for the hero and heroine. None of this HFN stuff for this reviewer. An all around excellent read. I will be buying a keeper copy of this sci-fi romance for myself.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ok.. If you ignore the kidnapping.. Very cute. The dialogue alone is worth the read. Morgan is hilarious. Some of the story is just so so but the read over all is well worth it. The inner monologue of Morgan... Made me laugh and i think many could identify with her insecurities. Thanks for the entertaining read.

Morgan is a human captive. She has been selected as a breeder for the prince, Zaden. But Morgan is rough around the edges. She has been abused by a boyfriend and her family turned their backs on her. All of her tough ness covers up a tender heart aching to be loved. Zaden has fantasized about her as soon as he saw her image. But they locked horns at the get go. She wanted some changes, and he did what she asked for. She is not one to be meek and mild. She goes to help a friend against her father. He was intending to kill her and Morgan stepped in. So, he decided to kill both of them, but the girl's lover killed him. Morgan had to find a way to save her and him. Then at Morgan's and Zaden's engagement party, they were attacked by zeolats. Morgan got struck by an arrow in the side. All Hell broke out when he saw her bleeding on the floor. Bones fixed her up good and things started to straighten up. Then one of Morgan's enemies tried to get rid of her. But Zaden found her and rescued her. This is an amusing, and exciting rip-roaring tale of Morgan finally get what she craves the most. A love for only her and her happily ever after. This is Most definitely an adult only book! I recommend this book to anyone who loves aliens and humans getting together to create a whole, New race.

Written for mature readers only (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence such as abduction, fighting with some to the death, treasonous plots, etc.This is the second story in the series, with the potential of multiple spin offs, due to reoccurring characters and shared themes, I highly recommend it be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers.I just love Morgan and Zaren! She has been abducted from earth because his race is on the verge of extinction, but she has real spunk and kept her sense of humor. Zaren is the prince and heir to the throne of his planet, but he is not afraid to show his emotions like the rest of his fellow country people. This makes him very unique and well suited for Morgan.The story universe in this story is contained to the palace for the most part, but it is described very well, so it is easy to imagine even when in the garden. The characters, from the H/h to the protagonists, are well defined. There are a few grammatical errors, but nothing that dictated lowering the rating.

I was fairly bored by the story itself, but the narration of the audio book kept me going. The new to me narrator had an amazing story-telling ability, and her inflection was spot on for what was happening in the story. This is the second book in this series that I've read now, and I'm pretty sure that the storyline isn't drawing me in, so I doubt that I'll carry on, but I'm glad that I found another narrator that I like.

Morgan was one of the original humans to be kidnapped by the aliens (you can read about that in book one of the series), but she wasn’t claimed on the ship.Instead, the future king, Zaden, has claimed her.Between his harem, political enemies, and alien enemies, there is a lot that Morgan has to deal with, can they make it to happily ever after?Another entertaining sci-fi alien romance in the series. Although there is definitely sex, there is also a lot going on outside the bedroom. Politics and relationships, as well as adapting to new cultures, are all trials facing the heroine, which makes for a slightly more in depth read.This is not really a standalone book. The romance can be read by itself, but is best when read as part of the series, because there are background stories going on that affect continuity and the lives of the heroines.Recommended for sci-fi alien romance lovers!

Ms.Bridges is amazing !. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but I love ,love this second book. Every single character is interesting and the hero and heroine are so great together, hot sex .The story keeps you anxious to know what is going to happen next. I have already pre-order the 3rd book coming soon from this Author. You have a fan in me. Thank you so much for an exciting and engaging read.

I love these types of books. I loved the wit and jokes in the book. It was exciting with the drama. Keep writing books like there and I will keep reading them.

Amazing book that keeps you on edge and laughing the whole time. Definitely recommend. And it ends on a happy note

Morgan was so funny by the way she talks. Storyline was super again and gripping. I’m certainly enjoying how each of the aliens is changing and the chemistry is strong

The Dravians, elf like aliens, are threatened from extinction. So Prince Zaden ordered the abduction of human females in order to serve as breeders. Morgan is one of those women and has a degree in criminal justice. Zaden is deeply in love with her and recognizes her as his mate. But Morgan was beaten by her boyfriend and doesn't trust Zaden's love. Also are there the Purists, who don't want mixed races and Morgan unmasks dangerous conspiracies ........I loved to read the book. It's storyline contains action and hot romantic scenes. Zaden has a strong, determined character and Morgan is strong willed and sensible at the same time. I highly recommend this book.

Book 1 and 2.... they're alright, not bad. I feel like there's zero character development and the male characters in particular really don't seem to do much in either story except growl mine and have sex. The tinest points of plot tension are resolved really easily so it's all a bit luke warm from a story/plot perspective. Probably won't read the rest but I'm not mad at having read the first 2.

Overall I liked this book. For the length, it's unsurprising that the buildup of love between the hero and heroine came too quickly. I like fated-mates stories, but there needs to be a fine line between insta-lust and real development of feelings, and though what the hero SAYS, especially towards the end, indicates he loves the heroine, I just didn't feel it was very believable outside of biological imperatives.
