Wide ranging and visually stunning
Cop 26 came and went leaving, in the opinion of many, very little changed and little to look forward to if we leave the planet in the hands of the politicians and big business. What this book does is offer a starting point - in fact a variety of starting points - to think about and become educated in the issues and problems facing Planet Earth in the 21st century. The range of topics discussed [albeit briefly] is huge; economic expansion / inequalitiy, the growth of megacities, plastic pollution, the decline of biodiversity, deforestation and desertificaton - and many, many more.Particularly impressive is the creative use of full-colour graphics to explain and break down complex information in ways that younger readers and adults can comprehend. Topics such as pest control, tidal and wave power, biodiversity hotpsots and many more become easily digestible with these innovative and stimulating graphics. The potential here for classroom teaching is enormous, but the book is aimed at an adult audience too. Here is something we can all learn from. The sooner the better.
