As expected - - 1 for MSI QA.
Everything is fine, except one thing:This is the fault of MSI I think. I can't wait and run after exchange now, that will take a long time, but one of the the rear ISO USB mount soldered is titled! It's off axis.Anyhow, I will have to use it cuz time is just too important for me - but MSI QA has failed here.

Not bad but high temperature with 12900k
You need more fans and pads to cool it down with 12900k and arctic freezer II 420.

Nothing but issues with this board and vendor has admited issues with it. Stay well clear of this. XMP is not working and Ethernet connection randomly gets disconnected for 3-4 hour periods. PC also showed red CPU light and orange DRAM light.Changed to another board and all these issues went away.

A great board let down by one major flaw
Initially, I was very pleased with this board, however this changed when I found that the Ethernet connection has frequent dropouts. From what I can gather, this appears to be some sort of driver issue that has yet to be patched as of June 2022, mainly affecting Windows 11. I had to buy a separate PCI-E Ethernet card in order to keep the network running in the end.If you're planning to run Linux or Windows 10, you may have more luck, but there are no guarantees. If you're planning to use WiFi exclusively via an external dongle, you'll be alright, but if you're reliant on an Ethernet connection, either plan to buy a PCI-E Ethernet card as well or look elsewhere for a motherboard.

Great Motherboard
The PRO z690-A is one of the most affordable options that MSI offer but I chose it as it has all the features that you would expect in a motherboard twice as expensive. 4 m.2 connectors, 6 layer PCB, 14+1+1 power phase design, PCI-E 5.0, USB Type C header, 2.5gb LAN and is known to be one of the best memory overclocking z690 boards.Installation was easy due to the helpful manual and easy to use BIOS.The only downsides are that it has a subpar audio codec (Realtek® ALC897) and does not look as aesthetically pleasing as other z690 motherboards as it does not have an integrated IO shield and a full motherboard shield as seen in the z690 Tomahawk or the z690 gigabyte gaming X. Other than that this board is the best price to performance board you can buy for the z690 platform

Easy setup and installation
Easy to setup and appears stable with an i7 12700K paired with Patriot Viper steel 3600mhz in XMP-1 and Crucial P5 Plus M.2. OS is Windows 10.Fortunately, I haven't experienced the issues mentioned by other reviewers at time of writing this review, and the build was incredibly straightforward. I initially booted the system using the onboard VGA for setup, before installing a discrete card. My motherboard came on the release BIOS so that doesn't appear to be factor. The only precaution I did take was to load the NIC drivers from the MSI site onto a USB as they weren't picked up on the Windows 10 install. After that Windows updated itself and even installed the MSI control centre!Very happy with the machine so far, reason for 3 stars for value is this quite simple motherboard feels overpriced at £200. But that's more a reflection on most electronics at the moment.NB. No full paper manual is included, just a quick start guide, 2x Sata leads, CD-ROM and an I/O plate.

Fantastic product
Purchased for a new build with 12600kf, excellent product with onboard latest generation of wifi and bluetooth. Works well with processor and due to MSI bios easy to overclock. System running smooth and fast.A fantastic product, at great price, I had looked at alternative products such as ASUS prime z690-p wifi d4, which is similar price but about £10 more at most places but this is far better. I opted for the MSI board as it offers 6 sata ports onboard vs 4 on asus board, and 4 m2 slots vs 3 on asus board. So you get far more for your money. Just not the extra m2 on MSI is gen 3, but that's fine as there about at good prices and still offer great speed.Overall really happy with my purchase, a great product would recommend it to others
