Effective product. Exceptional Customer Service.
I installed this Dr. Heater in my 700sf garage with 12’ ceilings approximately 3 months ago. It is effective at increasing the temperature 30-40 deg from ambient in about 1 hr. After some initial issues with heat circulation in such a tall space, installed a 6’ ceiling fan to keep the heat from collecting at the ceiling, which was effective. The heater works well. I am not sure why it says that it needs a 60amp circuit on the unit, because it only draws about 35amps at peak start up and less than 30amps on a continuous basis.I initially had an issue with the thermostat indicating too high and turning the unit off. I contacted Dr. Heater and they advised me to move the temperature probe away from the unit. It is zip-tied to the back vent grate of the unit. Moving it was relatively effective at providing more accurate temperature readings.Recently I had a power surge caused by a transformer explosion down the street. It caused significant damage to my heater. I disassembled it, which was quite easy and determined the main PCB was fried (destroyed fuse, several blown transistors and resistors). I called Dr. Heater for support. They picked up right away knowledgably advised me of other places to look in the heater for damage, and then directed me to a website where I could purchase a new PCB for a very reasonable $15.I cannot emphasize enough how exceptional Dr. Heater customer service is. They pick up the phone when you call. They are knowledgeable about their products at a very technical level and are willing to help and share information. They are also willing to sell you parts without price gouging or trying to sell you a completely new heater. I never write reviews like this, but my customer service experience with Dr. Heater was so outstanding that I felt it necessary to let everyone know. This is how good companies are supposed to work. They have not induced me to say any of this but they deserve your business and trust.

Do not purchase this Product!!!!
11 months after I purchased this heater it quit working. I contacted the manufacturer as it had a 1 year parts and labor warranty. I was told it was probably the the front digital board and they would send me one but I had to pay shipping. I had to get an electrician to swap out the boards and it did not fix the problem. The manufacturer said it’s probably the back board and we will send you one. I had an electrician come to swap out that board to find out the board they sent me was not compatible with my unit. When I informed them of this they asked for pictures of the breaker panel and a picture of me testing the voltage to the unit. While trying to get this fixed I had a different heater installed and it has a voltage reader on the front. I sent a picture so they could see the volts that were being drawn. Their comment was that not our heater. I replied “no it’s not your heater is sitting on the garage floor not working “! Terrible product and terrible customer service and the warranty is not worth the paper it’s written on . I feel I gave them plenty of time to correct the problem before I posted my review. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!! Up date, they want me to send it in for repairs at my cost of over $200 shipping. Terrible company do not do business with them.

Excellent unit, great service
I purchased the 10k watt heater and could not be happier! This thing is great, it heats up my woodshop from near-freezing temps in a few minutes. I ran a 240v 50a dedicated circuit, with 6g cable. I have a remote manual thermostat - I do wish I could set up a smart thermostat with a timer. Also also wish I did not have to use the remote to turn on the heater.Despite the remote, I would still recommend this unit.

Great Heater! Great Customer Service!
I've only written one or two reviews in the last 15 years because that's not my thing. But the customer service impressed me. I installed this DR-910F, 10,000 watt heater according to the instructions with 6 awg wire and a dedicated 60 amp breaker. It was working fine. Then I installed the wrong wall thermostat. When I flipped the breaker on there was a pop and a flash. The heater display worked but would not power the fan or heating elements. After turning off and disconnecting all power to the heater, I disassembled it and easily found the problem. A big scorch mark on the power board where a transistor was. And I mean was! I called them and asked if I could get that board and right away they were helpful. They quickly identified the part and shipped it to me. They also sent the thermostat board in front just in case it got hit too. To make a long story short, I installed the parts, put it back together and it's working great. I don't see how my ordeal could have possibly gone smoother thanks to their excellent customer support. Thank you, Dr. Heater! The moral of this story is be very sure you install the correct wall thermostat if you're going to do that. Don't make the same mistake I did. Also, follow the instructions and turn the power switch off before switching between wall and built-in thermostat. We're using this to heat a 30x40 one bay shop with a high ceiling and it has no problem. It's also much quieter than the 5000 watt heater we were using. That was a pleasant surprise. The old heater had to work too hard in order to heat the shop but this one does the trick! Oh yeah, the workmanship is very good also. All around good heater!
