Very good sound, too much hype
Cowon would do well to tone down the hype. These come in sophisticated packaging, complete with rhetoric which makes you think that you are in for a transformational experience. No. They are very very good sound- wise, but in some other areas... it is a bit of a miss. Noise cancelling, Meh. Not many do it well. Theirs is better than average but not to the point where it enhances the music much... unlike say, Sony.Time was I compared everything to my xm1000s, but that is not fair. You could buy 3 pair of Galas for the cost of 1 set of xm100s, so realistically the expectations are not the same. On the other hand, you can now get very good ear buds, yes, very good, for $35. Are the $300 phones/ buds worth it? I have purchased 3 sets... for myself, my husband and son, and when my daughter wants a set I will have to sell the dog. But, if you do not have $300 to spare, these are very good.At this price point I do expect good sound, and know several places to find it, and... Cowon competes with any of them. They do not have aptx or ldac, which is a bit of a disappointment, but it is full range, clear, detailed, balanced sound. It is very nice. IMO as good as or better than Jabra 65 or 75t, 3 e, or Shure, or Sennheiser.. even Sony (but not the xm1000s ;)They have 10mm drivers, and are still comfortable to wear (and that from someone who can not wear the Devialet Geminis but very much wants to. I stopped wearing ear buds for a long time because so many were uncomfortable, even painful (quiet comfort, for example). So the Cowon magic was making a 10mm driver comfortable to wear. They are obviously twc. I only got sound on the right side and had to do a reset out of the box. So much for Airoha. They were easy to reset and repair, but I did have to do it.I get the feeling that a lot of people were expecting something stupendous from the lead up, and were subsequently disappointed, but as someone who has tried 40-50 sets of ear buds, these are very good, as long as you are not expecting audiophile sound and then some ;)CleanBalancedFull rangewarmdetailed soundNoise cancelling, doesn't do a lotstable connection but tws is not instantaneous. Give them a few seconds to pair before pairing to your device.

Ok earbuds but not a good value.
I tested these earbuds and came away unimpressed for a variety of reasons. The pros of these earbuds are:1. They are comfortable. I wore this working out as well as for extended period of time watching videos. My ears never felt sore or fatigued wearing these.2. They held a charge for a long time.3. The active noise cancellation worked well.4. Nice packaging, especially if you are giving these as a gift.Sound quality:Overall, I would rate the sound quality of these as just "OK". I tested these with a variety of music as well as a frequency tests and 3D sound imaging. The "sound stage" felt small compared to other headphones and earbuds I own.The dynamic range was fine, and these were able to reproduce most frequencies. The bass is a bit weak compared to other earbuds. I also found the volume to a bit lacking on these.Mids and highs were clear and there wasn't any distortion at any frequency. My "cons" of these headphones:1. The touch controls on the earbuds is substandard. The "voice" that let's you know that you turned on active noise cancellation can barely be heard when listening to music. It was hard to tell if one was adjusting the volume correctly.2. Unlike some other earbuds, there is no "meter" on the case to let you know how charged they are. There are 4 lights to let you know how much of a charge there is in the case. I prefer the meter that tells me the percentage. My biggest issue with the OWON Gala - Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth 5.2 is the price. These are 85 dollars. There are better sounding, cheaper alternatives. For example, I found my Tozo T12 earbuds to not only sound better but they are 30 dollars compared to 85.At this price point, you are a bit over 20 dollars away from purchasing Apple Airpods, which sound far better than these OWON Gala's, but may not be as comfortable.Bottom line: An OK sounding pair of earbuds, but there are comparable and better alternatives out there for a better price.

COWON, not COWIN - Okay sound quality, decent battery life, uncomfortable fit
These COWON (not to be confused with COWIN) Gala earbuds seem to tick off a number of great features such as wireless charging, USB-C charging, BT 5.2, good battery life, etc., but I still have a hard time recommending these earbuds because of the high price, mediocre sound quality, and uncomfortable fit.To start, the ANC is actually pretty decent on these. There are three modes: ANC on, ANC off, and Voice Through. With ANC turned on, a lot of ambient noise is cut out and voices are muffled to the point where I don't really notice people talking around me. Voice Through uses the microphones to pickup and amplify ambient sounds to bypass the sound blocking nature of these types of earbuds. It's great if you want to hear conversations or just be aware of your surroundings without having to take out your earbuds. The sound quality is pretty mediocre. There isn't much bass or richness to the sound, so I've mostly been using these earbuds for audiobooks and phone calls. So far, there haven't been any complaints about the microphone quality from my coworkers though.Battery life has so far seemed decent. I'm not sure if I'm getting exactly the 9 hours claimed by the product description, but it seems pretty close. I'm able to wear these for most of the day before the little voice informs me that the battery is low.For me, the biggest issue is the fit. The design is pretty rigid and straight, and I wish they were a little more ergonomic. Obviously, comfort is a very subjective aspect of the product, but I've seen other earbud that are clearly designed to fit into the weird shape of human ears.Overall, I just can't recommend these over other options on Amazon. I have two pairs of very similar headphones made by Baseus that are less expensive, have much better sound quality, and fit much more comfortably.

Easy Pairing
These bluetooth earbuds came nicely boxed and pretty close to fully charged though I would still recommend charging them completely before first use. Be sure to remove the plastic covering off each earbud before charging the first time.Once charged they are extremely easy to pair to your device. Make sure your bluetooth is turned on and scanning for new devices then just open the earbud case. Immediately popped up on my Galaxy A10e and I just clicked to complete the pairing. These will pair every time to the last device it was paired to almost as soon as the case is opened. Comes with an instructional booklet with brief descriptions of how to use the various functions.Personally, the sound quality is far better than earbuds I have used previously. And most certainly better than the previous bluetooth earbuds I have used in the past. The noise cancelling feature works better than expected but not so much that you can't hear someone close to you speaking directly to you.Earbuds can be used individually or as a pair. A notable feature if you just want to use one and still be able to really hear what's going on around you. And the battery life on the earbuds is well beyond what I would have expected. Listened to music for the majority of the day as well as a couple of phone calls and didn't run the battery completely down. Great for when you want to take that long walk, hike, or run.Earbuds charge while in the case as long as the case is charged. Can all charge via a charging pad which is certainly a handy feature given the charging cable for the case is rather short. As I don't have a charging pad, I just charged the case with the portal battery charger I use to charge my phone and tablet while on the go.I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for decent quality earbuds that pair easily and are easy to use. I will most definitely continue to use these earbuds as they are well above any earbuds I have previously used.

I really wanted to like these
I originally got these with the idea of pairing them with a MP3 player to use at work so the cord from regular earbuds wasn't getting in my way all day. Every time I tried to pair them to the MP3 player they would lock it up and make it completely unresponsive until I restarted the MP3 player. No go on that front!Next I paired them with my android phone and my playlist on the phone automatically started to play, maybe something was salvageable after all. Not what I intended but if it works then it works. The music was kind of flat but changing some settings in the equalizer in my music app fixed that. The next day when I got to work I got them out and they immediately paired with my phone but the music app couldn't find my folder of music and said the SD card was unmounted... I checked and it wasn't. I linked the folder to the music app again and played a few songs through regular earbuds, starting and stopping a few times, and everything was fine. I unplugged the regular earbuds and got out these BT earbuds and low and behold, my music folder disappeared again. Scratch that implementation.Just for giggles I paired them with my computer to see if that would work and it did. Cool beans! I was getting ready to watch a movie so I thought I'd try these out and aside from a lack of bass, they worked pretty good. The cool part on using them for watching videos from my hard drives or online, when I take out at least one of the earbuds from my ear, it pauses the video and restarts it when I put it back in. That was something I didn't expect to happen. The bad part is I really don't need or want earbuds or headphones with my computer. I have everything patched through a surround receiver and in ear or over ear stuff just can't compare to the sound from that. That they worked with my computer was the only reason I gave these three stars. I never tried to make a phone call so I can't say how good they work for that. If I can't use them to listen to music also I don't need them with the phone.
