Review: Great product and great price! - I absolutely love this wood stain! The red color is beautiful and it's semi transparent but goes on beautifully and one coat is all you need! You cannot beat the price! I've used more expensive brands of wood stain in the past and they cannot compare to Kilz! The end result was beautiful and the best waterproofing ever! I'd buy it again and again and recommend it to my family and friends!
Review: I Suggest You Place Your Kilz Order - Years ago I had a leaky fixture under my sink. The smell lead me to a mold and mildew problem that was not pleasant. I cleaned, scraped and treated the area to the best of my abilty and applied KILZ Mold and Mildew grade bathroom paint. Kilz made my under sink area look amazing and 7 years later, no mold, mildew or stains. So when it was time to stain my fence, I was happy to see Kilz as one of the affordable brands. My fence is a decade old and looks like new after applying this stain. I did have another product on the fence and took my time ensuring it was all cleaned off ahead of application and as you see, Kilz went on clean, smooth and easy. I recommend!!!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I use this over pre dyed wood (alcohol stain)?**
A: Hi Nicolas,This could be applied over an already stained surface if the previous coating is just a stain and not also a sealer. Also, this may not give the true color of this product if you are going over another non-natural wood color. We would recommend a solid color stain to ensure the correct color.

**Q: Do they sell 5gal buckets**
A: no

**Q: What type of solvent would I need to clean an automated sprayer out after using this product (warm water/thinner/solvent/etc.)?**
A: Hi Joel, Kilz Waterproofing Wood Stain is a water-based product and will clean up with soap and water. No need to use any harsh solvent as long as you clean your sprayer soon after you finish application.

**Q: Do you need to prime the wood first?**
A: NO...Just slap it on. It's very thin, and a little goes a long way. You need a second coat, but it dries fast. I still have about a third of a gallon left after 2 projects, and I was worried that I should have bought 2 gallons for my first job. It also stands up well. I have it sitting in the full Florida sun all day, and it hasn't shown any signs of fading. Best stuff I have ever used, and highly recommended. Good Luck.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Skip the prep - works great
*by B***H on 28 April 2018*

I did none of the prep and completely satisfied. I have a wood sided hot tub that needed restaining badly and it turned out great. Beautiful color, the redwood dried very nice and the natural wood grain came through with the stained color you would expect. Thicker than other stains I have used but I think that's good and why it has a great performance and warranty. I would buy again. I still have half a gallon left after doing the job.
