Loving the alien inside
As Bowie saidAlways go a little further into the water that you feel you are capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth, and when you don't feel like your feet are quite touching the bottom, you're just about in the right place to do something exciting.I have great expectations of this book.it will have to be good to match up to them.2 years ago I made a conscious decision to begin a journey of self-discovery to find some truth. In a world of ultra manipulation and where the facts had no leverage on the emotionally charged, self-harming psychosis of social media and politics. It was always going to be an alienating experience. I decided to do it publically and journal it in the arena of social media. This decision has made me very vulnerable at times. But hey "Live by the sword, die by the sword". The first year was about healing. It had to be and has to be. Healing is acceptance of the truth, If we are searching for our authenticity we need to know our damage, our trauma and begin to make a peace with it. I have found this to be an ongoing process, the more we clear the deeper we dig to reveal more nuggets of our emotional past. This is a time of real graft.A demolition of all the things that don't serve anymore, it is a time to either discard the trauma (if possible) or befriend it and live with it ,without it harming our life. After acceptance and healing come the rebuild. We have stripped so many layers away through the healing process that all the usual baggage we hide behind has left us. This is now where we feel most isolated and vulnerable. This is stood naked wide open. Like a prawn without a shell. We need to be very brave here and hold our own. The temptation is to run back and hide behind the persona we have constructed over our lifetime. But as Bowie said.Always go a little further into the water that you feel you are capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth, and when you don't feel like your feet are quite touching the bottom, you're just about in the right place to do something exciting. At this stage this is exactly where we stand.I took a lot of courage and a lot of comfort from reconnecting with the great inspirations in my life. David Bowie being one of them. Revisiting Bowie from this vulnerable position is an amazing experience. Audiophiles will spend an whole lifetime and a fortune to get the best sound and listening pleasure from the equipment they piece together. But there is a different way of listening, one that money can't buy, that is listening with new ears.Get some new ears, not new speakers or headphones.Ears that are in tune with you and have an infinite dynamic range. These can't be bought, but if we are lucky , we already have a perfect pair stuck on the side of our head. We just need to tune them in properly.Listening to Bowie with the Bowie mindset of being out of our depth, from a position of alienation, vulnerability and with a need for connection, is absolutely one for the bucket list .Its a bit like the Glastonbury feeling, Those who know it ,know it. So Bowie became a hand to hold .Not someone to follow but someone that was alongside giving courage and support. He popped up every now and again over the past couple of years. I feel so grateful for the lessons and guidance from his work and quotes. So yes this book has come just at the right time.Thank you 🙏.I.am pretty sure I don't need it's lessons and structure. But I am also pretty sure there will be lots of reaffirming for me within it. I will read it and I will expand and adapt it like all autodidacts do.I am sure I will write about it too.,5/stars just for it's concept.

Very shoddy finish to book
I ordered 2 of this book one was perfect the other from pages 139 to154 was creased the edges of which had not been cut so I had to trim it off with a stanley knife in order to free the pages as shown in photo. Dissapointing!
