ok harness for pullers
So, we've had several harnesses over the years, with a couple different dogs. This one was used with a Goldendoodle Pup. The fit wasn't great. The girth strap needed to be too tight for the chest area to fit properly. When we used it to deter pulling while leash training, the whole thing twisted and the front loop ended up being on his side. (he is a very strong puller!) We used it with the double leash that was included, and that sort of helped to get the harness back into the correct position. I'm not fond of the leash, as it is plain nylon, with no hand guard, so it occasionally burns when the dog pulls. The harness did help with pulling, it just wasn't an all around great harness for my dog. It might work better for a dog with a different body type, who isn't too crazy a puller. We used it for nearly 7 months and although there is some fraying, it's still intact. Thats quite impressive considering how much my Pup pulls!

Someone needs to inform my blue heeler this is a no-pull harness!
I bought this harness on the recommendation of my dog trainer. Our blue heeler is a very strong puller and hard to walk. My husband likes using this harness only because it doesn't have the potential to hurt her neck like typical dog collars if the dog pulls hard against the leash, since the harness wraps around her chest and under her body. But, to me, using the harness gives the dog all the power and control because that is where their strength lies; within their core and legs. In theory, the harness tightens around her chest when she pulls against the leash, but honestly, how much of a deterrent could that be? It's no deterrent for our pup, who is a tad over one year old. Yes, you can redirect her by pulling on the front lead of the harness but then she only turns back around after letting go or she begins pulling in another direction. I also found I was leaning down a lot in order to grab the attached front lead to redirect her, which disrupted the walk. Not efficient or smooth for me. I'll keep the harness for my husband to use (he doesn't bother with the front lead attachment, anyway) but I'll use something different when I walk her.

Warning! Painful to long haired dog!
After doing a lot of research to find a good front clipping harness I landed on this because it had good ratings in comfort. However, this was not the case for my border collie and I believe the same could be true for other long haired dogs. The velvet part of the harness and the front chest strap aren't sewn together and so as it slides around it pulls on my dogs hair and rips it out. I wish I had noticed this sooner because by the time I realized what was going on my dog had an infected sore and had a patch of fur missing (the long hair kept it hidden). In addition, she was able to chew through one of the straps pretty easily so if your dog is a chewer, don't get this harness. The harness did help her walk looser on a leash but looking back I think it was because she was so uncomfortable and pulling only hurt her more :(If your dog has short hair maybe they would be fine but if you have a border collie or similar dog, I recommend you keep looking.

No-Pull Harness: Works Beautifully
We purchased the 5/8 inch Medium Freedom Harness for our young male Welsh Terrier after having had a very positive result in first trying the same harness (in Small) on our geriatric female Welsh Terrier, who had developed a hacking cough from straining against her leash when clipped directly to her collar. The younger dog is bigger and stronger and a much stronger puller, and walks had become a struggle. As with our older Welshie, the No-Pull Harness worked like a charm with our young lad.First-time users may find the harness a bit of a challenge to fit properly, but the directions are very clear and -- with a bit of patience -- will make sense as you adjust the harness to your dog. Once properly adjusted, the No-Pull Harness is extremely effective in preventing a dog from pulling without causing any choking, since the harness "corrects" pulling from the chest, not the neck. Our young Welshie struggled briefly at first, but a few mild corrections -- a slight and completely harmless "pop" of the lead -- soon brought a halt to any residual pulling. The result was a dramatic and positive change in walking behavior that's been good for humans and dog alike. Walking is neither a struggle nor a chore; instead it is a pleasure for all. This is a top-notch product that works as advertised.

Don’t buy this harness here. Buy it from the manufacturer
Buy this harness from someone who gets it from the manufacturer. I bought mine from usadogshop.com WAY better quality and fit. I think they also have a warranty. I have a terrier pitbull who pulls a lot, especially since I live around a lot of rabbits and deer. She uses this harness to keep her calm, without it she rears up with all other harnesses. However with this particular harness sold here? Worthless. It didn’t even fit properly. Buy the harness from the actual website.
