Seriously amazing!!!
We went from Dallas texas to Provo, Utah with eight passengers in our Ford Expedition. We are staying in utah for a month so we needed a little extra cargo space. Tow of our passengers were sixteen year old girls with three suitcases each. This duffle packs really easy. I, the mom, and not any sort of body builder, loaded and unloaded this duffle with ease with the help of my nine and eleven year old daughters. I love the big heavy duty zipper with the Velcro attachments that secure it for rain and water protection. I love that it cinches down and really doesn't add a huge amount of height to my vehicle like some of the hard roof top cargo carriers. I love the ease with which it attaches to my existing roof rack.We had unloaded the duffle late on Saturday night and headed off down the freeway the next day and forgot it was up there until it slid down the driver's side all empty and clacking around. We pulled off and it held strong and surprisingly it didn't scratch or dent our new vehicle in the process. This thing is amazing. I will travel with this from now on. It is so nice to have all the luggage up top and out of the way to make room in the back to travel with healthy snacks and a cooler. We saved a bunch of money not eating out and felt so much better when we arrived at our destination. I wish I could give this ten stars. There are no problems with this product. Amazing.

it did not look like it had straps
Looked at least twenty different products and the subsequent reviews. Tough to determine the reality of some of the reviews, whether it was product failure, or customer failure. We had a similar roof carrier that was so well made, the company stopped making them, seriously, it must have been to expensive to make, that it was unprofitable. The one we had did not have the tie down straps welded to the material, rather the straps went across the entire container and formed a "net" that completely relied on the straps for strength not the welds. When I saw the oxbound, it did not look like it had straps, it does, but rather it relied on straps sold separately that went across the container and relied on the ratchet system to hold it in place. There are eight straps attached, welded to the very heavy duty vinyl covered container or bag. These straps are probably adequate to hold everything in place, however, at anticipated speeds of 70 mph, I felt that having an additional strap from front to back and side to side made sense. We have only completed the first leg of our trip, but I am very happy so far with the heavy duty nature of the material, zippers, straps, and the velcro flap that covers the zippers. This appears to be a very solid product; looking forward to see how it handles rain. On our trip we saw other people with roof carriers, and were amazed that the carriers were still attached to their car. Several reviews I read seemed more like the people attaching the bag to the roof were at fault rather than the products which they were reviewing. It is just common sense, load the majority of your luggage in the front, where the wind will be strongest, and use a strap front to back to ensure that the wind goes over the bag not under the bag. This bag also handles more luggage than I anticipated, my only problem was that one of the straps was slightly frayed right out of the box. The straps are welded to the bag, and cannot be individually replaced. I received the bag just in time for our trip, and did not want to go through the hassle of a return. I have not contacted their customer service, so I have no insight as to how this would be handled...I really just don't have the time. I would recommend this product.

Surprisingly good: quality material and build.
The biggest advantage is that it's flexible and those straps on top keep things nice and secure. Odd-shaped luggage and cargo is not a problem. The only disadvantage is that since it's made of rubberized canvas (or something a lot like it) is that it is a little stiff to work with in the cold. And the carry-bag that came with it? They're not kidding - it's huge! The roof-protection mat is your standard non-slip mat, so easy to replace should it wear out. The weather flap covering the zipper is pretty stout all by itself but it has velcro to hold it just the same. I drove 90+ mph (but not in the rain!) and had no problems with water getting in or wind loosening the straps. The only thing preventing a perfect rating are the tie-down clasps. They work just as designed and are adequate for the job, but some of them (2, on my bag, so I have to wonder if it was on purpose) are installed 'underhanded' so the part you would run under the roof rack rails has to twist back under itself to clip into its lock. But maybe that's just me being picky.Overall rating: 9/10 would buy again.

Great cargo holder
Edit: We used this for a 400 mile trip, driven in 40 mhp wind the whole way, with the bag stuffed to capacity (probably right at the weight limit for our roof bars). I was so nervous the straps would break, we stopped at a truck stop and bought tie downs. The tie downs were not needed. It worked great. Straps held up with no damage.I was really nervous about getting a soft shell cargo holder for the roof, but I am so happy we got this one. We were able to get the majority of our lightweight camping supplies (airbeds, sleeping bags, camping chairs, clothes bags, etc) for our family of 7 in the bag. We were more worried about the weight limit for our cargo bars than we were about how much would fit in the bag. It held up great to a very windy drive and didn't slide at all. Love that it comes with a mat that prevents slipping and protects the roof. This bag will get plenty of use and I'm hoping it holds up just to well.
