I have had dogs my entire life. I’ve also bought many dog beds over the years. This is, by far, the best dog bed I have ever purchased. I have a senior lab/pit mix and a 3 year old lab. The senior would be best described as medium sized and about 78 lbs. The lab is 80+ lbs. I ordered the X-large bed (2). My first impression when opening the box was “wow! The mattress is packed like a memory foam mattress for a person. I unrolled it and watched it slowly plump up to 4”. It was easy to insert the mattress into the cover although a bit awkward since it was so big! The bolsters are made very well with firm but soft stuffing (other bed bolsters in the past were stuffed loosely and lost their shape quickly). I am so impressed and so were my dogs after getting over how big it was. My senior dog loves his new bed and he snuggles in quickly and snores away quite quickly. I don’t know if it is the bed or what but his snoring is much quieter. This huge bed is such a great value and looks as if it will last many years. I feel great about providing a bed to my two love bugs and it didn’t break the bank. I hate writing reviews, but I just had to regarding this bed. I wrote this review in 2018. It is still fabulous and looks like the day I bought it since it is easy to take the cover and wash! What makes it even nicer is there is a water proof cover over the mattress and under the gray cover. My senior dog has crossed over the rainbow bridge and I got a Great Pyrenees who has grown to 135 pounds and she fits just fine in the XL bed. She sleeps in one I have on my side of the bed with an extra down pillow I gave her. This is the best money I have ever spent on dog beds. The mattress still holds like the day I got it and the dogs lay in the beds often.

I wanted a comfortable temperpedic dog bed for my two small dogs, both about 25 pounds and both 14 years old and starting to have arthritis in their hips. After a lot of research I chose this bed (very similar to the friends forever premium orthopedic dog bed but it is more expensive for the XL) The temperpedic mattress comes with it's own white cover which can be unzipped and washed. The main bed cover also has zippers for the bolster pillows, so the pillows can be removed and the entire outer cover can be washed. The bolster pillows are not temperpedic, which I expected, but they are dense and appear to support my pups heads. I had a difficult time determining which size to purchase as I wanted one bed for both pups. Some time they cuddle with each other and other times they sleep apart from one another. Based on the photos and the measurements (very clearly stated), I choose a XL. Well, this was a mistake (my mistake) and I am exchanging the bed for the large size because the XL is large enough for twice as many dogs! Nonetheless, I was very pleased with the quality of the product as well as the way in which the bed was prepared for shipping. The temperpedic mattress is rolled in its cover and covered in heavy duty plastic wrap. The bed cover itself is wrapped separately with the bolster pillows in place. I took off the plastic and immediately placed the mattress inside the cover before it expanded fully. It was very easy. It is a good looking bed and the pups used it as soon as they saw it. I did place a nice soft blanket over the bed before they used it as other reviewers suggested (to decrease the need for washing the cover). I know my little pups will be quite happy with the large size bed and I look forward to getting it soon.

At first Bentley ( our fur baby, who has severe hip dysplasia from birth) smelled the new bed and stood on it and walked around in circles on it, then got off of her new Orthopedic bed . She seemed unsure. This occurred for a couple of days.The next afternoon I was busy in the kitchen and looked up to see where Bentley was because she was just laying at my feet on the small area rug I have in front of our sink. I then looked over the kitchen counter and saw that she was laying in her new bed. I had put some of her cuddle toys in the bed the night before hoping they would entice her /comfort her. Apparently it worked! Ever since that afternoon this bed has become her favorite place to chillax. So much so that I am going to order another Petlo Orthopedic Sofa Bed to put on our screened patio for her leisure/comfort. Bentley loves to be outside in the early dawn hours she loves to listen to the bids singing and gators baking as well as accompany me when I am on the patio working on my call reports for work or shopping on my computer. I am hoping that the second bed is as nice as the first and Bentley enjoys it as much as she currently enjoys her Petlo Orthopedic Sofa bed. So far this bed has been easy to maintain (clean) I vacuum it every few days and have not as of yet removed the cover to wash it. The cover fits snuggly around the bolsters and my husband helped me assemble the bed upon its arrival. Excellent fit, quality and most importantly Bentley likes it!

I have searched for a long time for just the right bed for my older lab (80 lbs) and have finally found it. This Petlo Orthopedic dog bed is very supportive, not too soft and not too hard. We live in a cooler climate and most memory foam is too hard when it's cold but not this one. The bolsters on 3 sides are firm and don't collapse under the weight of a large, droopy dog head. Haven't had to clean it yet but I love how the bolsters zip off, the memory foam compartment zips open and the actual memory foam has a zipper cover on it as well. The other thing that convinced me to buy this is the positive comments about customer service. After receiving the bed, customer service contacted me to make sure all was well. I am a happy customer and my dog is a happy sleeper. My lab is 80 lbs and I ordered the XL, perfect size for her to lay out but cozy enough for cold nights.Now it's a year later, still absolutely love this bed! It has held up so well, bolsters are perfect for supporting her head, the memory foam shows no aging-still very supportive and soft enough to be comfortable. My old gal actually prefers this bed to being lifted up on the human bed and that says alot. I will be purchasing another one for my old gal to sleep on at the main level of the house. Best money ever spent for an important member of the family!
