Schnüffelfreunde Leather Dog Collar (M - 28-36cm, Red)

Considering the cost of this collar, I'm fairly disappointed overall. After 3 months of relativity light use, the metal ring meant for attaching the lead to the collar is already badly corroded. While it doesn't effect the function of the collar, it's not what I would expect from a collar in this price bracket. I use a harness for walking my Labrador, therefore the collar is never attached to his lead, it's only used for holding his dog tag.While I realise metal will rust eventually over time, I'm surprised at how quickly the ring on this collar has corroded. I haven't seen any corrosion on the metal of my dogs lead and/or harness, which are both older and get far more wear and tear than the collar.I wanted a stylish good quality collar, that would hopefully last my dog for at least a few years... not one that would be rusty after 3 months!The leather does appear to be good quality, it's unfortunate that it's let down by the quality of the metal attachments.I would definitely not recommend this collar, particularly considering the premium price point.

I bought this collar to replace my 4mo springer spaniel puppy's nylon collar as I wanted something more smart and sturdy. I was worried leather might colour my spaniel's white neck, but nothing so far. The collar feels much more secure than the clasp nylon ones because of it being robust leather and having a buckle. The product arrived very quickly and I also received an order confirmation email direct from the seller. There is a little stretch to the collar and the underside is thick and cushiony so hopefully very comfortable for my puppy. I bought the small and will be buying a medium once he's outgrown it.

Bought for (at the time)10 month old Vizsla. Extremely pleased with collar. Its extremely well made - true craftsmanship. Quality materials... no hard edges.. rounded very comfortable. Very sturdy. Darker contrast at edge looks good, especially against ginger Viz. Angus been wearing constantly now 2 months ... collar truly put through paces...daily rough n tumble mountain walks through braken / shrubbery wet n dry. No sign of wear.. looks to last long time.

The collar itself is nice quality, lovely soft leather and looks and feels well made but the ring you attach the lead to isn't welded into a single piece so if you've got a slightly pully or boisterous dog, it won't last. Our small but lively Lab broke it within 7 days. First collar that's happened to for us.

In less than a month the ring on the collar that attaches to the dogs lead, failed and 21kg dog ran loose. Shame, this is a beautiful collar

My puppy required a collar with a good old buckle, rather than a clip, as he kept opening the clipped collar. This collar is lovely and soft and the fittings are excellent. I was confident from the star that it would be ideal, which it was. My only mistake was that I ordered slightly on the small size and he has almost outgrown it. I am so satisfied that I have ordered another in the next size up.

You cannot beat real leather! Well made, correct design proportions for size of dog. Excellent product all round. I have now bought another one for my smaller hound. Highly recommended!
