Der Pork Pie wurde ab den 20ern gerne von Jazzmusikern getragen, er ist einerseits ein traditioneller Hut, andererseits auch ein Accessoire von Underdogs. Im Film wird er unter anderem von Gene Hackmann in French Connection und Brian Cranston in Breaking Bad getragen. Man sollte ihn nicht zu ernst nehmen, er ist ein ironisches Zitat und etwas subversiv. Die Qualität ist ausgezeichnet und der Hut wurde in einem schützenden Karton geliefert, kam also unverbeult an. Mir passt mein Exemplar bei 58 cm Kopfumfang, es gibt im inneren ein Bändchen, mit dem man ihn etwas enger machen könnte. Er hat kein Hutband und ist damit sehr einfach in der Formensprache. Der Porkpie ist nicht sehr formell und kann zu verschiedenen Outfits kombiniert werden, er passt auch gut zu Tweed oder dunklem Anzug. Wer ihn zu Jeans tragen will, greift lieber zur Strohvariante oder einem braunen. Die Varianten mit zweifarbigem Band passen gut zu Skamusikern.
