Mixed feelings on this - Updated
I decided to take another chance on this as it was so handy to pick up and play, turn off then resume the game later. Anyone with young kids will know how useful this is.Second unit the screen does have some backlight bleed but it is nowhere near as bad as the first one and is quite acceptable. In bright screens it looks excellent by the way.Joysticks work fine on this unitFan noise is much better. In all much happier second time round.******Previous Review******The goodThe device does run games, admittedly at low settings but this isn't an issue with the smaller screen. It's a powerful thing for it's size. The BadMy unit had awful screen bleed. This meant that darker games just looked bad due to the yellow glow in each corner of the screen. One of my joysticks squeaked when moved which was annoying and intermittently did not register input, cue my race car smashing into a barrier. My unit seems to have been used before due to wear on the shoulder buttons. Also when I ran a tool to check the M2 Drive, it showed over 4TB had been written and a power on time of 20 hours. Thing is this was only after a couple of hours of me having it so was not possible. The tool I use HDD Sentinel is accurate and I use it elsewhere and it does provide accurate readings, even for M.2 drives so it's not that the software provided a bad reading. The fan noise from this thing is irritating. Not sure if this was a problem with my unit but it wasn't great. It's a real shame as the premise of this device is good but it is let down by some inferior parts (screen), poor fan control and the fact that mine seems to have some used parts in it (at the very least), I say that as the box was sealed when I got it (previous return maybe).I am not taking a chance on another as this experience has been a bit disappointing.
