I buy this by the case
I never do any type of job with out a can of this on hand. The uses are limitless. It even makes a GREAT gun cleaner. I use this to get 90% of the gunk off a dirty gun. I use the expensive carbon solvents for the rest. This works great at the gun range when a quick clean is needed. It takes only SECONDS and you are done. This is no where as caustic on parts like carb cleaner can be. Yes, Brake Clean can melt certain plastic and damage some paints, but try acetone or carb cleaner and see the the difference. Avoid contact with skin at all costs. It will get absorbed and can cause neurological issues, but that is likely repeated heavy exposure. Wash your hands well with soap and water after use. Best to wear barrier gloves it you are concerned about even a small exposure. Always use a good hand cleaner like Go Jo with pumice at the end of a greasy job. Wash and moisturize your hands when ever it has been in contact with brake clean. Gloves are always a good idea but not always possible. People with very sensitive skin MUST use chemical resistant gloves when working with this product. My hands ARE pretty sensitive but will be OK as long as I wash and rinse a lot. Once you use this product you wont believe how you survived with out it for so long. Oh, and it does work great for its labeled purpose of cleaning off brake rotors and pads of brake fluid and grease and road grime.

3M makes good stuff at a good price.
There really isn't much you can say about this. It's a can of brake cleaner. It'll work the same as any other cleaner out there. But, considering it's from a reputable company, it is sold at a decent price. As for the uses of the product itself, it'll eat up just about anything. When used correctly, a can of break cleaner is easily one of your best friends when doing pretty much any product. It's good for cleaning brakes, but also good for eating away at any kind of nasty guck or grime you might encounter in your automotive adventures. Although I would not recommend anyone try this, I even knew a few mechanics who would spray a little bit of it on their hands to remove the grime stuck in their hands after working on their vehicle. Again, DO NOT TRY THAT, because it's meant to dissolve stuff, and that includes the stuff on your hands, and I'm sure it has some negative side effects when doing this (the guys I knew who did this weren't exactly the brightest cookies in the toolbox). But, it'll get the job done. I also find that it's fantastic for cleaning out sealed bearings, provided they don't have a plastic hub (the brake cleaner will eat away at the plastic). In short, this is a great price for a brand-name product.

Right product for the job
The cleaner was easy to use and came with a plastic straw for better detail work. It cleaned my brake rotors prefectly and did not leave any film or residue, evaporated off in a short period of time. When using any brake cleaner be sure not to spray any on a painted surface, if you do clean immediatly with soap and water. Same goes for skin or eyes, recommend using saftey glasses.

Great Product; Decent Price
So there are tons of brake cleaners you can buy. Some that are more expensive, others that are significantly cheaper. I wasn't sure what to purchase so I fell back to find confidence within the 3M name. They have never let me down. The product works great however if it was cheaper, I probably would have bought more. Little on the expensive side but certainly works well.

Great pressure and cleaning fluid
It's like using a pressure cleaning machine, blow off all the carbon, oil and dirt. Dry in seconds. I use it for my gun parts and chainsaws.

Loses its high power after a few month
I'm uncertain whether I receive a defect a bottle or the spraying mechanism was NOT well designed. I bought it about five months before this review and it worked fine as a brake cleaner and it had a good spray. Now I tried to use it to clean my brakes and it doesn't spray even though the bottle is almost full. My assumption is that the propellant gas had escaped the hole. I can still get the brake fluid out of it by holding the bottle up-side-down, press the bottle and let gravity do the work, but it's quite annoying. I decided to use WD-40 to clean instead. As a brake cleaner, it's good but it can't squirt after a few months (no sexual joke intended). Would I buy it again or recommended it? Nope.
