Almost… pretty close… to Gin.
So I’ve been experimenting with making a mock gin and tonic. I love gin but my organs say differently. 💁. I’ve purchased all the AF gins out there. They suck by the way so spare yourself and your bank account and don’t buy them.I read the reviews on this and I have to say it’s pretty close to a real gin and tonic if mixed correctly. Thank you to everyone for your feedback.Pros:Definitely get the juniper berry flavor and smellA little dab will do ya so the bottle will last foreverMix with a good dry tonic water- don’t be cheap hereAdd sliced lemon or lime- I prefer lemon 🍋I also added 3 dried juniper berries to my glass. Just let them float in there to give it a little extra Somethin, Somethin.Cons:Do not put more than a smidge of this in your drink. Otherwise you’ll think you just put a handful of juniper berries in your mouth and chewed them up. Yuck!🤢You don’t get the alcohol burn that we’ve all come to love 😒. I don’t know how I’ll fix this… my husband said cayenne pepper… I said hell no.Try it! I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Woody juniper flavor
The flavor was juniper….but woody. And it smells woody. It’s ok. My recipe was to use a few drops in place of gin. That kinda worked. To get there, I took the handle of the mixing spoon and dipped it in the bottle, twice, mixing it each time into the tonic/seltzer mixture with a slice of lime to get the flavor I wanted. Personally, I don’t like those heavily flavored British/Indian gins for a G&T, just a good, clean-tasting, basic, refreshing, juniper-flavored bar gin. Like something that starts with a T.Summary: It’s passable but not great. Kinda like chewing on a toothpick while drinking a G&T. Wonder who does that?I mean, I’ll use it, just not thrilled by it. Maybe I’ll find it’s an acquired taste?10/29/2022. Here’s an update: I move it up a half star. This comes from experimenting. My recipe is to take four drops of juniper extract, two teaspoons of Jack Rudy Classic Tonic mix, three DROPS-not dashes-of Angostura bitters, a slice of lime and mix half and half with Pellegrino water and Great Value tonic water (Walmart?-not so sweet as other common brands) in a wine glass with lots of ice (wine glass because I live in wine country!??-its complicated!). Actually does work and tasty. Won’t fool you as a G&T but refreshing and credible. Good luck.

Not exactly your mocktail G&T solution
I had big hopes for this one now that I’m 5 weeks into no alcohol for health reasons...was really hoping this plus tonic and a lime would replace a gin and tonic. So here’s the deal; just like that fake liquor stuff, obviously it’s not real gin and can’t come close. However, with a strange floral taste (+ light juniper), and a velvety/oily texture, it’s not bad (similar to all the weird American small batch gins that taste like potpourri mixed with juniper) . But, the drawbacks other people’s mentioned are true:1) if you love Beefeater / dry London gin, this is not juniper enough...and no, “2-3 drops” does not make you think it tastes or smells like gin or juniper...more like a tablespoon...and what you have is a floral gin and tonic without alcohol—except there’s some kind of alcohol in this. Some reviewer said there’s not, but it’s on the label and my stomach hurt the next day after 3 mock tails...not bad, but an odd, “this is not quite meant to be a zero alcohol/healthy drink additive” pain (if you have gastritus or liver issues, you should avoid)....2) after taste: someone else said it was nasty. I didn’t pick up on that. Thought it was not bad (better than that fake gin stuff for $30-50/bottle, that’s just water with cucumber)...and then I woke up the next day with a gnarly taste in my mouth...like the flavor you get from a hangover mixed with chemicals.I’m sure in tiny doses for baking or coffee (really???), it’s probably great. But the strange aftertaste and not so great feeling the next day (if you use more than a few drops, is something to consider if you’re looking to imitate a Beefeater and Tonic...

Great G&T dupe
1/2 tsp juniper extract to one mini can of tonic and you’ve got a pretty good NA gin and tonic.

GREAT Gin Alternative!!
I was looking for a gin alternative for gin and tonic mocktails. I first purchased a $30 bottle of nonalcoholic gin and it was worthless! It tasted like SIGHTLY gin flavored water. I read another review that said the main ingredient of gin is Juniperberry so I thought I would give this a whirl. Get it!! I added a small teaspoon of this extract with tonic water and a lime wedge and it is so similar to a G&T. After trying it at my house my sister also purchased a bottle. I am signed up for the “subscribe and save” 🤣

I like it, but I wish it tasted a bit more like Juniper.
The flavor is a bit off, but it's still nice. I enjoy some in my coffee, and as a flavor enhancer to ginger beer.

Not a gin substitute
Just juniper extract. Not gin substitute.
