Great product! Please consider buying.
Very nice product. Ample for our needs. Packaged well. Came a day early. Wheels & pull out handle are built in which makes it easier for me to move with Arthritis. It is housed in durable plastic case. Easy to prepare & easy to start. Gas tank cap is an easy grip. It really is so much quieter & the remote start is perfect. It still has manual start if you need it. Duel fuel is perfect as well for home & camping needs should we need. Came w remote faab, propane tank tubing & adapter, oil & funnel & necessary tools. I had also purchased one for my son during the '25 storm and it was perfect for his little home. Suggest 2 people to lift this durable generator. It is solid-does not wobble around. I have arthritis & if I can use it- easy for others.

Great Generator
This generator is great. Quiet, uses propane or gas and is powerful.

Awesome and Quiet!
This generator is awesome. Itโs got a remote start key, push start, and a pull start. It runs off propane or gas which is convenient. Itโs one of the quietest gas gens I have heard. It started on the push button the first time I started it. It has two handles to carry it from the top. So itโs easy to take off my truck bed. Itโs fairly light. Iโm 62 and I can lift it up and down from my truck bed. It also comes with wheels and has a pull out handle to roll it around. The value for what you get is excellent. Westinghouse makes it super easy on the operator. I would definitely recommend this generator to anyone who is in the market for something portable & easy to use!

Good generator w/ some issues that buyers should know about
I purchased this in Sept 2022 after a lot of online research & looking at generator reviews. I bought it for periodic power outages -- some planned, some not -- that happen in my rural location. I've used it at at least 6-8 times since initial purchase. In general, this machine provides ample power to keep things running during outages, including the frig/freezer, several lamps, a small heater, and a few small electronic devices. The advertised "super quiet" is real, given the amount of power put out compared to other generators I've seen in action. While hardly silent, you can hold a normal voice-level conversation standing next to it. I plan on building a sound-insulated "doghouse" for the generator to further muffle the sound (being careful not to get the walls too close to the exhaust port, which gets quite hot during operation). Four things to be aware of: 1) The first time I used it, the generator shut down after ~2 hours run time. It took some noodling to figure out what went wrong, but I determined it was user error -- I had a daisy chain of lite-weight 2-prong extension cords inside the house running off one much larger cord, and I think that tripped up the device. Lesson: minimize the number of cords you have running off it, and only use 3-prong, heavy duty cords (like the orange or commercial-grade yellow ones available at hardware stores). If you use the 30-amp socket, you should get a quality 30-amp plug with 2-3 outlets. 2) Really crappy design with the oil feature. The correct amount of clean 10-30 (4 cycle) oil is critical for proper functioning, but... it is hard to reach and unscrew the recessed oil plug (at least with big hands like mine), or read the tiny dipstick, or determine the actual oil level. And you're almost guaranteed to wind up with a messy spill when you add and/or change oil. You will find this issue called out on YouTube and user forums. There are apparently some good partial fixes for this that I'm heading to next, specifically the installation of brass/rubber tubes (Drainzit, available on AMZN) that can be attached directly to the drain plug, which will at least help the oil change process. But it's still frustrating to gauge the oil level. Westinghouse needs to fix this. 3) Weight. It's a beast, ~125 pounds before you fill it with 3.5 gallons of gas. This is not a design flaw obviously, but you need to be aware, especially when grabbing the PLASTIC extension handle to move it around. I am very careful when rolling it for fear that the handle will break off, and might build a dedicated cart with construction lumber and heavy-duty casters. (I cannot keep this outside permanently due to frequent extreme weather and have to bring it in after each use; this is obviously not an issue if you're using it in a location when it can just stay parked in one spot year round) Finally: I had one quick question about the machine. Attempted to contact Westinghouse Outdoor Power support. Like most big companies, their customer support sucks. No phone number that I could find, and their "chat" help line just didn't work. It timed out 4 times before I gave up and closed it. You're sort of on your own to figure things out on your $1,000 appliance.

Excellent product, incredibly fast shipping ... read the instructions
Bought this shortly after my neighbor got his. We were all so impressed, now several people in my neighborhood own one. Likes: - Extremely quiet - quieter than my other neighbors Honda that only makes about 1/2 the power. - Plenty of output for most home uses. - Well packaged ... comes with everything you need, including tools - Extremely well written owners manual (they weren't kidding about checking the oil when filling it up for the first time either. It starts to get full at about 0.5 qts ... not with entire bottle that comes with it. You can probably imagine how I figured that out) - Is fairly easy to roll around, especially with the built-in handle. - Shipping was extremely fast ... particularly with over 1MM people out of power. Hurricane Helene knocked our local power out on a Friday, and my neighbor ordered one from Amazon that day. His was delivered Tuesday! Dislikes ... I'm reaching a bit here: - For some folks, the unit may be fairly heavy (I believe it is about 60 kg / 120 lbs or so - check the specs on the listing) If you want one that is easy to pick up and move up stairs, you may want to get a lighter / less powerful model ... or get a longer extension cord. I think the weight of this is reasonable for how much power it produces, and is no problem at all for me to roll around on a relatively flat surface - like a paved driveway. I could pick it up if I needed to, like when I got it out of the box, but I'll try to avoid that in the future. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. Once I saw this thing in action, I had to have one.

Exceeded my expectations
[Discussion:] So far (about 2 hours in) Iโm very pleased with the iGen4500DFc. Carton showed some signs of shipping abuse, but generator was well packed and had no damage. I purchased this generator for emergency household power and occasional light recreational use. Seems sturdy/durable enough to do occasional short bursts of field work. Output density (my definition: running output amps per cubic foot of required storage space), running noise level, ease of operation, low total harmonic distortion (THD), fuel efficiency/available run-time, and availability of repair parts topped my list of concerns. The iGen4500DFc nails it. Dual-fuel capability out of the box sweetens the deal. The iGen4500DFc is quiet (as compared to open frame generator models). In the first hour of break-in running, at just under half load, on gasoline, I measured 73dB SPL A-weighted @ 1m. Generally speaking, this noise level falls between the interior of a car driving on the highway and a vacuum cleaner. The well insulated case does a good job of rolling off the high frequencies. The result is a steady thrum with a broad, smooth peak at about 750Hz. [Overall:] If youโre looking for a light-duty/recreational inverter generator thatโs quiet, compact, powerful, and solidly built, look no further. The iGen4500DFc is an excellent choice. [Pros:] +Well-built +Quiet +Compact +Good value for money +Starts immediately +Electric push-button and remote start! Great for my shoulder and for my partner when Iโm not around. Just in case, the unit still has well-located (if a bit less so for lefties) recoil start +Eco mode (throttles to demand for loads with a low startup draw) for enhanced efficiency +Great included accessories. Comes with a bottle of engine oil for the first fill, a screw-in long-neck funnel, and a small utility tool kit including a screwdriver, 17/19mm open end wrench, and a two-piece stamped spark plug wrench. The spark plug wrench is tricky to use inside the cramped case (I ended up using a 13/16 spark plug socket, wobble adapter, extension, and ratchet) +Dual fuel. Comes with propane regulator and hose! +Efficient and long-running w/large 3.4gal fuel tank. At just under half load (w/ 94ยฐF ambient air temp., 53%RH, and 93 octane (non-REC) gasoline) I saw around a 0.3gal/hr. burn rate +Ownerโs manual is excellent and comprehensive (though there are some crossover data/specs inserted from the iGen5000 model to watch out for) +Moving. Easy to move on smooth/level/dry surfaces. Has an excellent hideaway โsuitcaseโ handle. Unit has excellent bar-handles and is compact/light-weight enough for me to lift into truck bed/onto work bench alone when no one else is around to help +Safety. Great safety features (incl. CO auto-shutoff, overload shutoff, low-oil shutoff, resettable fuses) +Display. Nice multi-function information display panel, if a bit confusing at first run (display data cycles through multiple parameters with the press of a small thumb button). Easy to read digital bar-style gauges for at-a-glance gasoline and load percentage readings +Battery charger. Box includes generator battery charger, though itโs not a โbattery tender.โ More a plug in and top off once a stored month deal. Nice to have it included +Repair/PM parts readily available on Amazon and through Westinghouse [Cons (and Iโm nitpicking):] -Case plastics. The plastic is soft. Very soft. Scratches/gouges on contact with everything harder than a fingernail (Mohs hardness 2.0). My thumbnail leaves discolored scratches that donโt โwipeโ away, but does not leave a discernible grove in the plastic surface. Great that the plastics likely wonโt shatter/crack with anything less than a major impact. Bit of a bummer that even the over-tightened screws from the factory discolor the plastics. If youโre fussy about the appearance of your equipment, the plastics might drive you a bit nuts -Wheels. The wheels are made from a relatively slippery blow molded plastic. They do the job, but feel cheap to me -Moving. Challenging to move on rough surfaces due to low ground clearance under center of chassis -Oil changes. Changing the oil on this unit is not easy/quick. The oil access panel is tiny and seems designed for dipstick access only. For oil changes, the factory drain assembly mostly lines up with a hole in the chassis pan. Fair enough. Getting two wrenches (10mm and 13mm) through the access panel, into place, and spinning is a trick. Prepare to remove the side panel for oil changes or do what I did: order and install an oil drain extension hose (can be fed carefully through the body-pan hole when itโs time to drain). Alternatively, you can cut the top off of a water bottle to use as a drain funnel. Speaking of oil, consider adding a magnetic dipstick to your order to catch/collect the inevitable small-engine ferrous flecks -Electrical outlets. Wish there was a second set of 5-20R 120V outlets. That said, the control panel is very full. No room to add an aftermarket toggle switch (say, neutral bond/float) -Switching to bonded neutral isn't as straight-forward as it could be. Floating neutral is likely the best choice for the majority of users. However, I do not plan to connect to a breaker panel (household or RV). Running stand-alone with extension cords, I want the added safety of a GFCI device. The common advice is to use a bonded neutral plug. Which would be okay, if it didn't require half of the available 5-20R outlets -Propane hose. Awesome that a propane hook-up hose is included. The hose I received is 33 inches (or ~84cm) long, including the fittings, which, when connected, places the propane cylinder too close to running generator for my preference -No 12VDC โaccessoryโ plug onboard -No phone app or WiFi/bluetooth connectivity -Panel LED indicators bright enough to read on the surface of the sun. No option to dim

It is everything I was looking for in a Generator for camping
Just got back from a caming trip while using this generator for the 1st time. 1. Ordered on Sunday & had it by the next day (Monday) 2. Very easy to hook up battery, fill with oil (which came with the unit and supplied the funnel that screws into oil plug for a no spill mess) 3. Generator fired right up with first hit of the remote start. 4. The telescoping handle is awesome for moving the unit around. 5. Love that it runs on gas & propane (even the propane hose & adapter come with unit). 6. Very quiet unit even when running AC unit in camper. 7. My wife loved how she could even start the unit with the remote from inside the camper while the door was even shut & unit was over 50 feet from the camper. Also at night shut unit down from in bed when done watching TV. 8. Great information from all digital gauges on run time & amount of run time before out of fuel. 9. Also like the sensors that shut the unit down for Carbon Monoxide & poor air intake to protect from overheating. ( I had set a wooden box box in front of the generator and within minutes the unit shut down. Could not figure out at first why it kept shutting off. Then moved the box and relized it was in front of the air intake. Untit ran flawless then. This is a GREAT unit!!! I researched MANY units for about 1 year before deciding on this one. You won't be disappointed with this unit. The price is Great for eveything this unit offers.

Fast, easy setup and quiet.
This product was a joy to setup. All I had to do was unbox (having 2 healthy sons to assist is a huge help!), read the manual (yes, READ it), and pour in the oil as discussed in the manual and connect the battery. The battery is behind an easy-open door and was a cinch to connect. I am using propane, as I do NOT want to stock gasoline in the garage. Setting up the propane was a breeze as the generator comes with all necessary parts. Westinghouse even included the spark plug wrench and a wrench for connecting the propane adapter and hose. That's a $$$ item on other generators. The startup sequence is simple - turn off ECO mode, turn master switch to on, and push button. I have had 2 back surgeries and 4 shoulder surgeries, so using a "crank" is not going to happen. The battery started it instantly. I let the generator run for an hour (as the manual indicates!) for break-in. I turned the ECO mode on and it ran very quietly. The squirrels and birds at my feeder were unperturbed. That's a clue how quiet this thing is. The included key fob worked both outdoors and indoors for turning the unit on and off. Living in Katy, Texas we get frequent severe weather. As I am now "Senior Citizen" age I want to be able to run a room air conditioner. This is powerful enough for my room AC and refrigerator. It has spare amps for a computer, and other necessary items. The battery needs to charge periodically, and the plug for battery charging using a wall dongle. That's easy to manage and will have a calendar reminder. The ability to remote start / stop, use propane, ease of operation, and quiet are all pluses. Well done!

Very powerful and quiet.
I really liked the purchase, it is very quiet, in the video I connected a small heater of about 1150 watts, you can see the generator screen consumption, it was at about 25% load, my idea is to connect in addition to that load, the refrigerator, the television and some lights, I imagine that with that I reached about 75% load, I would use it for camping and in case there is no electricity in the house due to snow or a big storm. It works with gasoline and gas, for the gas connection it comes with all the necessary hoses for connecting it to the tank, it comes with oil for the engine, very good instructions and user documentation, I am very satisfied and of course I recommend it.
