Perfect!
If you're looking for an easy quick way to poach eggs perfectly, look no further. I am usually quite happy to poach eggs 'naked' in water, but these poaching cups are now my preferred choice for a number of reasons. You get to eat all of the egg because it's all contained, of course; and the egg is nicely shaped for presenting on a plate -- but beyond that, I like these cups because they allow me to check on the doneness of an egg and put it back to cook further if needed, and the clean-up is a cinch. The pot of water doesn't need cleaning at all (and I can give the water to my plants); and the poaching cup is easily washed. You do need to slick the cup with a little oil for perfect egg release -- but the amount you actually consume is negligible, as some of the oil continues to coat the cup. You don't need an implement to remove the cups from the pot (they float on top 1½ inches of water): the wide rim is easily graspable (to avoid spilling water into it, you could always use a spoon to help lift it on one side, however). The cups are also a lovely colour. Highly recommended!Edit: I don't bother oiling the cup these days. I find it makes very little difference, in fact.

Too thick and too large
We usually use the cling film method to poach eggs, and got these as an attempt to a quicker, less messy solution. However, I think we'll go back to the cling film method. The silicone is too thick, so eggs take ages to set (20 minutes vs 3 with cling film!!). Also these are huge, so the eggs look almost fried instead of poached and we can't fit 4 in a pot that would easily fit 6 with the cling film method.

So easy to cook poached eggs now
So easy to cook poached eggs now! Just put a pat of butter in the bottom of the well, and also rub the sides so the egg slides out. Yum!

Great to microwave a scrambled egg in every morning
Great to microwave a scrambled egg in every morning. I do have to give it a light mist of non stick spray before use. Perfect size.

Residue from cooking won't come off.
They don't clean up very well. After I used them there has always been a white film that I cannot remove.
