Against All Odds: Israel Survives

The story begins with a Jewish American investigative reporter named Michael Greenspan. He tells his own story and narrates the stories of Israel using old film footage, real interviews, and story reenactments. I've heard some of the amazing stories of Israel like the wars of 1948 (war of independence), 1967 (6 day war), and 1973 (The Yom Kippur War). In each of these wars, almost every surrounding Arabic country united together and sent massive military forces into Israel to wipe them off the face of the earth, yet Israel somehow survived. All of these wars are beyond belief and proof of present day miracles. God's hand is definitely upon on Israel.When this film talks about The Yom Kippur War, I am reminded how important this war was to the history of the US. This war was the first time the US backed Israel with significant military help and kept Israel from the brink of elimination. This story reminded me of the promise to Abraham where God said He would bless those who bless him (the nation of Israel) and curse those who cruse him (the nation of Israel). This movie does a great job telling the stories of Israel using very personal accounts and stories. I am forever grateful for this movie and for the producers of this film. It has touched my life and really helped me understand the stories of Israel.

Israel isn't the subject but rather is the object that God uses to express his commitment to keeping his word, through the bible God keeps his word to all bond and free, rich and poor, great and unknown people and to religious and non believers alike. The point is that as Matthew 5:17-20 (KJV) says17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Amazing! If you've ever wondered why the Jewish people have survived and thrived, yet continue to be the recipients of unspeakable hatred and abuse, in spite of comprising only 0.2% of the world's population, this series will open your eyes. Miracles continue to involve and surround the Jewish people and the State of Israel precisely because they are indeed "God's Chosen People." No other people or nation on earth has experienced the profound miracles this people has experienced. No other people in history has given the world as lofty a moral code that has defined the civilized world for thousands of years as has this people. And it's all because of who their God is: YHVH, Yehovah, Hashem, Melekh Ha'olam, The Most High. HalleluYah!

. Being Hebrew and close to Israel there are many more stories which are yet to be told. I only wish I would have been able to recount so many of the miracles that you did not see here which happen during the six day war. Yes I said miracles and there is no other way to account for what took place during all of Israel's wars and wars that did not happen because of information obtained by Israel's security forces. This is a moving and wonderful story which everyone should see and most of all Israel's enemies and those who hate the Jew. When God spoke through his prophets one of which wrote once Israel became a nation again they would never be uprooted. If you mess with Israel you are messing with God and that is never good. Great movie don't miss it.

My husband And I really enjoyed these stories about Israel

I didn't realize when I ordered this that it had a decidedly biased frame of reference. I was expecting an objective presentation of the subject matter--even scholarly and peer reviewed-- but what I found was an unabashedly slanted puff piece. Disappointed. But the DVD's arrived quickly and were well wrapped. That's why I gave this three stars instead of two.

This is the most informative documentary I have ever seen. You come away with a deep spiritual encounter. You can't walk away from watching this series without a profound belief that God acts on behalf of Israel. A person sat in the class I was teaching and mentioned a DVD collection I should review, "Against All Odds: Israel Survives" so I thought I would check it out. Was I ever glad I did. Since purchasing this series I have mentioned it to several hundred people, some I know have already bought their own copy from Amazon.com.

I first saw the single DVD via Netflix & shared it with a friend. I truly like that DVD & She loved it. I purchased the entire set on Amazon that same day. I haven't seen the entire set yet as other friends are loving it. I'm sure that I will totally love the entire set when I get it back in my hands.I'd recommend this to any interested party, as I did like the single disc & so many others have raved positively about the set.

EXTREMELY WELL DONE THE MUSIC, THE CINEMATOGRAPHY WERE PHENOMENAL. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF BIAS , AND HAVING MICHAEL GREENSPAN GAVE THE WHOLE SERIES 100% AUTHENTICITY. WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE BY THIS TOM IVY. HE OBVIOUSLY IS A MAN OF INTEGRITY AND TALENT! I HAVE SHARED THESE VISDEOS WITH OTHER FRIENDS AND THEY WERE LIKEWISE IMPRESSED. DIANNE HENDERSON DIFABIO

This video set shows to me clearly that it is God's will for these people to be in this land. If you don' t like the Jews it would be good to observe the hammering they have taken in their land over the years. Well produced by a journalist. Each episode tells a differnet story, if you are interested in Israel, a must have.

Certainly you come away an awe of how God is at work amongst His People even if they don't necessarily believe on Him.

Such a wealth of understanding of how the Israelis won their wars against their enemies with the LORD GOD's overruling protection for them.
