Our first invasion, we used live traps. These worked well at first, but eventually the mice got wise and they no longer helped. Traditional traps actually scare me - I got my finger once when I was a young child and that fear never went away. We set those up, but half the time the bait would go missing without setting the trap off, and once the trap needed to be reset it would have to wait for someone else not me to reset it. Add to that having to avoid putting them in areas where pets might set them off, and they are useless. We tried this type, and quickly - within days - got the infestation situation under control. Baited with either bread or peanut butter, these work 99.9% of the time they are investigated, but the cover of the bait well keeps larger pets from getting to the bait and setting it off. The setting of the trap is easy and intuitive, with far less risk of having fingers get caught, so I myself am able to reset any trap quickly, and without fear. This allows us to put these traps anywhere, without regard to pets' reach. I hate the fear of them going off on your hands although though they don’t really hurt you, they’re not that powerful but they just scare me lol this is a game changer so simple to load and unload and it’s very very effective. I just wanted to let people know that this really does work and it’s a lot easier to unload and to load than a regular mousetrap. You just pull it up and it sticks. You don’t have to try to set it. It just catches. It goes off very easily by the mouse, only by them lifting the little area where the bait goes. Great product… ### ⭐ If you’d prefer not to finish the job yourself… *by M***M on March 5, 2026* I don’t recommend.. I set some mouse traps in the basement the other day. Didn’t realize they weren’t the good ones. Tonight I went downstairs to start a load of laundry and suddenly remembered what I had done.. .. one creature had splattered blood on a shelf - I have yet to bring myself to clean- in part because my daughter (7) then said from the top of the stairs “mom?” .. just as I found the other trap.. indeed creature filled- its little black eyes just dead open, seemingly looking right at me. ..at the top of the stairs in her fuzzy pink pajamas daughter (7) looks down at me and says her “tooth is wiggly and bleeding” - (in quite a state) I ask her to ‘stop wiggling it and brush her teeth like I had asked for the 7th time’ before I realized.. I had set three traps.. .. and I couldn’t locate the thir— uughh.. far from its original location another creature this one seemingly only half-dead, trapped and wet, had obviously been struggling around the basement for some time now.. I snapped at my daughter then- ‘I NEED YOU TO LISTEN AND GIVE ME FIVE MINUTES PLEASE.. GO. BRUSH. YOUR. TEETH. I nudge it with my toe- only to realize the creature was indeed still very much alive.. My daughter walks off, now crying - but long enough for me to find a separate black trash-bag to toss it in before taking it outside to bash it on the ground a few times in hopes of putting the poor thing out of its misery.. I feel bad about making my daughter cry. The other mouse traps I’ve set before were much less traumatic to deal with. As my daughter would say- I “could use a husband”. But really, if you’re not good blood, guts, and gore- and prefer not to have to finish the job yourself- I don’t recommend. The Feeke Mouse Traps are less expensive and have a clip action that’s much easier / less messy to deal with.
