5 stars because it's exactly what I ordered,Taste like a mix between wheat bread and a nonsweet cookie with a firm texture, they don't fall apart after you bite them but there are fine crumbs, not thirst provoking, I was expecting a chew but a crumble is finecame in a big tin with a small lid like a paint can, full of vaccum packed bags with 4 bars in each bag, every bar is tightly wrapped in plastic that makes it a bit hard to openMine said good until 2045, I use stuff quicker than thateach bar about 3 inches long x 1.5 inches wide and 230 calories, most of that is carbs and fat with a little protein, potassium and iron which makes it a good supplement for emergencies but you're not going to want to eat only these for a week unless you want a headache after day 2

I did a fairly exhaustive search for long shelf life ration bars and it came down to 2 options. This one was described as much better tasting...but it isn't a domestic product (China). After weighing the pros/cons I went with this product (taste and the better storage option won out). I haven't tasted them yet, and most likely won't unless the situation calls for it (hopefully never).So I just purchased these in March of 2024, and the stamp says good until 2043...or 19 years (not 20 years but close). I've eaten MRE's that are way past their stated shelf life (+10 years past) without any issue other than the occasional off-putting taste on a few items. I would suspect the same is true for these bars, assuming you keep them stored properly. So unless something unfortunate happens I'll be back in 2043 with a follow up review (after I buy a new pack).

I purchased these Emergency Food Rations Meal Ready To Eat kits mainly for emergency preparedness and overall I’m happy with them, but the packaging during shipping definitely needs improvement. Several of the cans arrived dented, and a couple of the lids had partially come loose inside the box, which was disappointing to see for products meant for long-term storage and emergency use.That said, the actual food variety and convenience are still good for building an emergency supply. I like having shelf-stable meals available for power outages, camping, or backup food storage, and the portions are decent for the purpose. Most of the items were easy to prepare and tasted better than expected for emergency-style meals.I would strongly recommend the company improve the packaging protection during shipping because damaged cans are a serious concern for this type of product. However, aside from the shipping issues, I still think this is a useful emergency food option to keep on hand for preparedness situations.

Tightly individually wrapped energy bars. They came in a nice metal container that unfortunately is wide open on the top with the lid missing. Consequently, a sealed container will need to be acquired for long term storage to prevent any compromise of the food by mice or other varmints.Note: As an addendum to the initial review, after making note of the initial packaging deficiency to Amazon, a replacement was immediately sent and arrived in tact, so all is good.

I was under the impression that I was getting 5 packs of 4.Actually it's 20 packs of 4.😆Seems way more worth the price now.Haven't tried them yet.Bought them in case things go south in the world.Probably crack one open though and try them soon.

I have nut allergies so I needed something for the trail that wouldn't contain nuts. This is easy to break off and chew. It's more filling than you expect. I've started taking these bars for long shifts at work. The taste is good if you like bread and grains like I do. Competitively priced.Warning these are not good for someone with wheat allergies.

The main selling point for me with these emergency food rations is that they contain no soy, which is essential as I am intolerant. They also come in sturdy boxes that stack neatly, making them easy to store. I have not tried the taste yet, as they are intended for situations where access to food is very limited, but they offer a valuable and compact source of calories.I do not keep a huge stockpile of emergency supplies, but these are a sensible addition given their long shelf life. Another big plus is that they are manufactured close to the dispatch date, so you get maximum usable time before expiry. The packs I received were all two to three months from the date of manufacture, which is perfectly fine for my needs.
