Love it so much I just ordered a second one for a different room!
Lucy is a lab/corgi mix, weighs about 45-48 lbs, is roughly 36" long, so I bought the large bed in grey which is a perfect size for her. Words can't express how much Lucy LOVES this bed! She sleeps in it, drags all her toys in it, watches tv in it, and has stopped jumping onto my sofas as much (which was the goal). She definitely prefers this bed to the human furniture. Lucy is turning 8 and so she now requires some additional comfort in life as she approaches her mature years, and also getting some old people issues that prevent her from jumping on and off the sofas anymore. That also means that we've gone through so many beds in the past 8 years that I've realized a few things are important to her: 1) She loves pillows, so she needed a bed that had the side bolsters. I've searched and wasted money on SOO many other beds that look fluffy and end up flatting out when she tries to lay on them. I feel like I FINALLY found a bed with real filling that is actually supportive. You can see in the images that they actually hold up against her weight when she rests her head on them. I think this is the #1 reason she loves this bed so much. The arms are real pillows. 2) The bed itself had to have true thickness and orthopedic quality to support her weight and back. Corgis tend to be prone to developing back issues late in life, so it's important to me that she have support to prevent these from developing. This mattress is thick and truly orthopedic. She actually prefers this bed now to other furniture and I think that this is the main reason why. She's finally comfortable in her older age. For this reason I just ordered a second one to replace the bedroom doggie bed. She'll now have one in the living room and in the bedroom. Totally worth it! 3) Lucy sheds a ton and loves to chew her toys on her beds so it had to be washable and vacuum-friendly. The cover is easy to unzip and slip on and off for washing. Lucy isn't that harsh on her beds so I haven't run into the trouble that some other reviewers have. I also keep a blanket on it for her (as you can see in the pictures), which might also be protecting the cover from wearing down quickly. However, in my honest opinion, even if this cover wears out, that's still worth it to me. The covers aren't that expensive, can be purchased separately, and the bed itself is good quality so I know that it'll definitely last through the next cover. The mattress and bolsters quality is key for me. Additionally, I vacuum it almost daily and it hasn't had any wear and tear signs yet between the washing and vacuuming. I'll provide an update if that changes. I've only had it for about 4 months now, so maybe it's still too new for what others have noted? Finally, I can't speak to the waterproof issue that some others have noted in their reviews. Again, Lucy just sleeps on her beds for the most part, and doesn't ever soil them so I have no idea if it is or isn't waterproof. But, I did follow someone's advice and bought a crib mattress cover to wrap the bottom mattress in before putting it into the vinyl sleeve provided (just in case). Something to consider. In summary, Lucy and I LOVE this bed. The price was honestly a little scary for me at first but after receiving this bed I totally get why it's so pricy. It's definitely a good quality bed, and worth it. It makes her other beds look very shabby and dreadful, honestly, like they should just be tossed. Check out my other reviews to see a competitor that we tried, which was also not cheap but much poorer quality, and is now being trashed and replaced by a second one of these. Can't wait for the second one to arrive for the bedroom. I know Lucy's going to be excited.

So Far So Good - Consider Sizing Down
Update - after two full months of use and daily vacuuming I’m happy to report that this bed is still doing really well. I vacuum it with the pet tool and the hair comes up easily. There are no signs of wear and when our senior Aussie starts licking her paws or legs the bed does get wet but it dries just fine. Both our aussies love the bed and even though the enormous size has been an adjustment it is nice that our tall Aussie shepherd has a place where she can completely stretch out. So far so good. Our Aussies loved their old dog bed, which we purchased because of the good reviews on Amazon. This bed was great but the cover failed - I'm looking at you BarksBar - and even though the bed was great, within a week there were holes in the cover where our girls would sleep. Our girls do not chew or pick. They are senior dogs who just sleep. The BarksBar bed was 40x30. I was worried because this Friends Forever bed measured 44x34 on the outside. I am here to tell you, this bed is HUGE. Both our girls - 71 pounds and 53 pounds can comfortably fit in this bed together and nap. I posted a photo above of the BarksBar bed next to the Friends Forever bed and our 71 pound Aussie is stretched out in the Friends Forever bed. In the BarksBar bed she fit, but her feet hung over the edge or her butt hung out the side. The Friends Forever she fits completely. The Friends Forever bed does have a smell. The memory foam pad that goes in the bottom of the bed smells like a memory foam pad. We have had it in our bedroom for two full days and the smell has dissipated significantly. It did not bother our dogs at all. We turned on a floor fan directly on the bed and the ceiling fan to air the room out and help the bed air out faster. Unfortunately it is snowing like crazy at our house or we would have just put the whole bed outside. I test out every single dog bed that comes into our house because our oldest senior Aussie (pictured above) has degenerative arthritis in her hips and she has a hard time getting comfortable at night. Honestly, I could sleep on the Friends Forever bed. That memory foam is extremely comfortable and it supported my weight of 150 pounds, so I know it supports my girls' weight. I vacuum all the beds in our house every afternoon and then all the covers get washed as needed and every couple months. This bed has been vacuumed twice and the hair come off no problem. I also spray each bed with Odoban to kill any germs and keep the beds smelling good. I will report back after the first washing.

Very nice high-quality bed!!
This is a very nice, well-constructed dog bed using high-quality material. I received it only a week ago, but I think it was definitely worth the price. This one was bought for my 75 lb. 9 year-old Labrador Retriever who seemed to be having trouble getting comfortable on or getting up from her old bed. I ordered the 44" X 34" size and she has more than enough room to stretch out and get comfortable. The size stated in the Amazon listing is at least the real size of the bed. Some other beds seem to be smaller than they claim. There is probably enough room for her and my 50 lb. Foxhound to share this bed, but I will probably get him his own new bed. The pad is comfortably thick and dense and does not flatten out when either of the dogs lay on it. The mattress cover is a smooth sateen-like material which would probably be very comfortable in the summer months. If there is anything that I could change, it would be that the mattress cover was a darker color. Not a big deal though. I'm wrapping a fleece throw around the pad and cover in the winter months. My dogs are not chewers or shredders, so I cannot comment on how resilient this bed would be for that type of dog. Assembling/stuffing the bed was not difficult, although it did take a couple of hours for the pad to flatten out and fully expand after unpacking it. I have not washed it yet, but I will update my review if anything unexpected happens when I do. Update: I've lowered my rating of this bed to 3 stars because after washing it for the first time on gentle cycle, the zipper for the part that contains the bolsters came apart. It no longer can hold the bolsters to the memory foam. I'm also having some difficulty finding information on the manufacturer to see if they might be able to help with the situation. Update 8/5/2017: Once I was able to find contact info for a warranty claim, response was very very quick and the problem corrected. I would definitely buy another one! Update 1/14/2019: I finally ordered a second one for my 50 lb. American Foxhound. This time I got the 40" X 26" size so that it would fit in his crate. The second one is every bit the high quality of the first one that I ordered over 2 years ago. The original one has held up beyond my expectations and it looks like it should last at least another couple of years! Both dogs love their beds and I would highly recommend them!

Best bed yet.
Through the years we have had a number of wonderful dogs and always treated them like they were family. That meant getting a great bed for them to lounge and sleep in. So we have had quite a bit of experience with dog beds. When the time came to replace our 75 lb. Bernedoodles bed, we spent time looking through the different offerings from Amazon. They range from the lower priced ones all the way up to some pretty pricey ones. We decided on this one as it was mid-range in price and had all the characteristics we were looking for. This could be the best dog bed we ever purchased. The base layer is a thick pad of memory foam which provides great support, much more than with less expensive foams. The bolsters are an important feature for our dog as she loves to lay in the bed and hang her head over the bolsters. These bolsters have lots of filling and provides her with a soft but supportive place to rest her head. The fabric seems to be of excellent quality and hopefully will hold up to our girls occasional scratching at the "ground". Another positive is that the cover unzips and can be machine washed. There are quality separate zippers to get the memory foam pad and the bolsters out of the cover as the padding does not get washed. There is also a waterproof cover over the memory foam, so keeping this bed clean and sanitary should be a breeze. Overall a very well made bed at a reasonable (not the cheapest) price that we know our dog will enjoy.

Expensive....but you get what you pay for
4.5 Stars 5 Star product, 4 Star price I'm not sure why we're in such an age of Petdom right now. From ultra chique to warehouse quality: prices for anything dog related are on quite a high. First world countries are treating their pets better than third world countries treat their citizens. It's insane when you think about it. But......I love my dog. :) And for some odd reason that justifies it all for me. And likely: you. With this Friends Forever brand bed you ARE getting a quality pet bed. The foam for the bed is the good stuff: solid, non-aerated memory foam. Not that crate crap, not the junk memory foam with holes in it, not pieces of memory foam. When I opened it I was both impressed that this bed is using quality memory foam, and dismayed because my baby's nap couch has the same quality memory foam that my mattress has. Errrr...."our" mattress. Stitching is top notch. "Suede" seems very good quality and long lasting. The zipper is a little on the inexpensive side so I'm hoping I won't be zipping/unzipping too often as it's not heavy duty. Honestly? This thing is comfy. Reeeeeealy comfy. I could use it as a pillow it's so nice. Which makes it about 17 times more than a dog would ever need. Is this worth what I paid? No. I'm pretty sure $60 would still net a profit. Am I glad I bought it? Yes. Because - like most of you - there is some kind of desire that leads me to spend more than necessary on my dog. And somehow I'm ok with that. ;) In summary.... If you were sleeping in a pet bed and wanted the best bang for your buck regarding quality and comfort, this is the bed you'd buy yourself. So just buy it for your pet. Because you don't sleep in a pet bed. And you love your dog.

Great dog bed especially at the lightening deal price
UPDATE: I have owned these 2 beds for about 3 years and they are holding up really well. They have had to be cleaned several times and look brand new each wash. I am particularly happy with this bed recently as my 13 yo golden is no longer able to get on the furniture himself. He seemed to be particularly slow in the mornings as I use to keep the two beds on a different floor than where he sleeps at night. I moved the XL upstairs and he has taken to laying on it at night. He seems much better rested (and overall chipper) in the mornings when he has been in this rather than the carpet. The second great thing is that our 7yo female is a digger and rough with the bed. She has caused no tears in either of these in 3 years so I'd say it holds up well. I do discourage her from digging but it happens and I am still surprised it is intact 🤷♀️ I have bought two of these for my 3 medium to large golden retrievers (70-85 lbs). I bought the XL on prime day and the XXL on black friday. My dogs love them and they are big enough for two of them to cuddle at the same time (they have to be appropriately placed especially on the XL but it can be done). They were easy to assemble when they arrived and should be easy to clean (I haven't yet but need to just because it has been a little while). My dogs are the diggers and spinners when they lay down and they aren't very gentle. These beds have shown no signs of tears in the few weeks and months when have been using them. I should mention they don't get super heavy use because my dogs have a few beds around the house and are allowed on the furniture.

Great quality dog bed
This is a great dog bed. I’ve bought 3 of them over the years. This one is XL 44x34 Chester Khaki. The bed arrives with the bolsters installed and the foam vacuum packed. Once opened, the foam expands very quickly to the size advertised. It does have a bit of a smell, but after letting it air out it is fine. It easily fit into the water resistant liner and then into the base of the bed. The material is soft and sturdy and I love the color. All the seams and zippers are good, and the bed is heavy enough not to slide around. We put this bed in our living room and the dogs took to it immediately and are very comfortable in it. We have 2 other beds of this same brand in our bedroom and they are now 5 years old and still in excellent condition despite washing the covers numerous times. Reinserting the foam and the bolsters after washing the cover is fairly easy, especially after you’ve done it once. These beds really are great and worth spending a little extra to get something that is both comfortable and durable.

Well designed, quality dog bed
I bought the size Large in gray for my 80lb leggy Labrador Retriever. I debated back and forth about whether to get this size or the XL, since Labs can fall into either category. I'm here to show the Large was a perfect choice for my dog, who has plenty of space to curl up in it. If your similarly sized dog prefers to stretch out, or is maybe a senior dog and doesn't curl up as much, you might consider the XL. But for us, this offers plenty of room. His last bed was more expensive and the quality doesn't compare (it was one of those egg crate foam sheets covered in fuzzy polyester). The filler on this is a dense brick of thick orthopedic foam that is supportive and soft. Thoughtfully included is a silky zipper pillow case that protects the foam and makes stuffing it into the bed a breaze. The bed itself is made of a thick suede that does catch a lot of dog hair but vacuums easily. The zippers are enclosed in a thick piece of material, hopefully to prevent a mouthy dog from finding it. I have seen a lot of these bolster beds and they either lack central cusion or the bolsters break down and the whole bed loses its structure...I don't anticipate that being an issue with this bed for a long time. I haven't washed it yet but unless he has an accident, I don't see why spot cleaning won't work for a while. I don't recommend this for chewy puppies or dogs still getting house trained...you will want to save this for when they will "appreciate" it. I'm really happy with the quality of this bed and the price point for a size large. Having bigger dogs makes everything more expensive, so I'm happy to have found something that works this well at such a good price. My dog approves!

Soft, supportive, most importantly - my dog loves it.
My dog doesn't like new things, except some toys. He doesn't like it when I clean his crate, or move pillows or blankets around. I was worried that he wouldn't like this bed. He doesn't like it; he loves it. The bed is as advertised - thick memory foam and a good bolster around the side. It's not too soft - just right for him apparently. Maybe the bolsters could be a bit stronger so they don't sag to the side a little bit, but that's nothing. The bed is great and looks great. I got the large for my 55 lbs dog - seems like a perfect fit.

Happy dog
Great product. Easy to wash and my senior dog seems to enjoy laying on it. Would purchase again or recommend.

Comfort for an old man
I bought this for my 17 year old Yorkie as he has been experiencing a lot of hip pain and he constantly repositions himself but since the introduction of this bed he seems to be more peaceful and sleeping soundly so I love it. It's nice quality, the memory foam is thick and lush and the small size was perfect for a teacup dog.
