HACK: How to add an additional 4mm of height to these glides
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of these--the nail at the bottom is sturdy and actually longer than the ones that came with my chairs, which were made of soft rubber and quickly wore out. These are made of much harder material and I don't see them wearing down anytime soon. But the real reason I ordered these is that my DR table is a weird height, so I was hoping to add some height to the chairs so I don't feel like a five-year-old who needs a booster seat. I couldn't find anything that could do that that wasn't super bulky and ugly. To my delight, I discovered that you can easily slide off the black disc from one glide and then slide it onto another glide so that you have one brown piece and two black pieces with plenty of room left to nail it into the foot of the chair. It added just enough height for my purposes. So get twice as many as you need--and then you can use the now-shorter glides for chairs/tables where height isn't an issue. These are, as others have noted, much nicer and cleaner than the felt glides. Who knew something this simple would be worthy of a five-star review?

They glide really well
I ordered these yesterday and they arrived this morning. I followed the directions and drilled a 5/64 hole in the base of the chair legs and tapped the glide in with a hammer. I was really simple and now the chairs glide over my floors without any problems. I'd tried the felt glides before and found that they collected dirt, didn't glide, and were difficult to remove. It looks a little like my chair has hooves, but I'm really happy with them.

~3/4 in chair slides - 40 count -easy repair project, big results.
With all the time at home, I noticed the chair slides needed replacement. Easy fix with these. Sturdy, well made slides. I have done this project years before and thought Amazon in this time of being at home - I'll buy the needed pieces on Amazon. These slides lived up to my expectations. Handyman tip: If the hole from the removal of the old chair slide is kind of big, I use a wooden toothpick as filler - tap the toothpick in and break it of at the surface, then tap the new slide in place.Small project, big results!

Can mark hardwood floors
Should have gone with my instinct that surely something this hard could leave marks on the floor—and it can. Left some marks and tiny scratches on our newly refinished hardwood floors. Thankfully, I’m probably the only one that will notice, but I just ordered some silicone caps to go over them that will hopefully work instead. Don’t buy these if you’re concerned about scratching your floors; keep looking.

Prefect replacements, but do not glide well
I've replaced white nylon sliders on several sets of kitchen chairs and 4 bar stools, all on ceramic tiles. The old ones were OEM white nylon that wore down over several years but they slide on the tiles fairly easily. These replacement installed really nicely because the nail is slightly larger in diameter than the original ones which meant they took a slight amount of hammering to seat, but are firmly in place. The notable difference is these "sliders" don't - slide that is. They require the chair or bar stool to be dragged along the floor, at least well more so that with the old nylon factory gliders. That is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your needs, so be aware. Less gliding means a chair is less likely to slip out from under some one when they stand up - a good thing perhaps, but we drag a couple of bar stools every night from our bar area to a kitchen counter where we can watch TV while we eat and it take noticeably more effort to drag those stool across the floor - not a great thing, but also not a big deal for me. I used to be able to sort of swing a stool around and with it "gliding" over to the counter area, but now there is none of that. I have to drag each stool every inch of the way.I will probably replace these with slicker nylon feet sometime in the future, but that's only because I prefer a more slippery glider. These are probably a safer option for many people, and in any case, they seem well made and installed perfectly so I'm giving them a 5-start review.
