Stone I received looks nothing like the picture. Also, it's not carnelian. It's an agate.

I am not an expert on telling the difference between natural/real and manmade crystals, so I cannot speak to that for this necklace. I see complaints about it not looking like the picture, and they are right, but that is typical of crystals in general. I looked up yellow carnelian, and the pictures online look almost identical to some of what other reviewers are showing, and it does not always have stripes or bands on it, so one should not buy this convinced it will look that way. One should look it up first to see if this is what you might want.With that said, I thought mine was a nice piece. Mine does have some striping or banding on it on one end, but it needs a good light on it and will not show in a picture well. It does look exactly like what I am seeing online either way with the coloring and look to it. I love crystals, including ones with flaws if they are natural as that is the way they were created, so this necklace is perfectly fine for me. Use your judgement if you would prefer something that looks a little more "perfect." It comes with a nice leather chain that a lot of crystal necklaces come with.

This is a nice necklace with a cool looking stone, wrapped nicely in just the right amount of metal, on a cord that is comfortable and soft.

Between us my wife and I have many crystal stones and several that are designed as jewelry and this AYANA Yellow Banded Carnelian Faceted Tumbled Wrapped Healing Crystal Pendant Necklace comes no where near the quality of those. Not that those are overlay expensive, but ones that we have bought at stores that sell a range of crystals and items of the like. In this case, my wife liked the idea of the stone with the stripe it mentioned in the product description, but as you can see, there is nothing but a milky white-yellow coloring here. The stone itself looks like it might be the bottom of the barrel, a left over from nicer ones that go to the stores we shop at. The only thing this stone has are the two black marks. - pictures - that we have never seen in the offerings we shop from or the stones we actually buy. In other words, these imperfections only add to the idea that these are cheap, leftovers that didn’t make it into the regular shops. The metal wrap is decent, but why bother when the stone looks bad? And the cord is basic and cheap - something we’d change out. We’ll dump this necklace for lack of any value or look. In the end, we cannot recommend this AYANA Yellow Banded Carnelian Faceted Tumbled Wrapped Healing Crystal Pendant Necklace at all.
