A gift for my daughter who says it’s lovely and warm

Excellent product, very good quality. The throw is made of a very soft material and is very warm in it self. The heating element is effective and I have used it everyday since purchasing.

The blanket warms up quickly, and maintains heat at the selected setting well. I find a setting of 2 or 3 (out of a max setting of 6) is plenty warm enough. I bought the mustard option, and it is a lovely rich colour, almost gold. For me, the blanket could be a touch wider - another 10cm wide would be better. The timer settings are helpful and work well. The cable length is good. I previously used to cuddle up under a regular fleecy throw with a hot water bottle. This is, I think, a better option - more consistent heat distribution and duration. I assume (hope!) that it’s a cheaper option than boiling a kettle for said hot water bottle. The electric throw is stiffer than the non-electric one, but I’m not sure that could avoided given the need for heating components running through it. It claims to be machine washable - I’ve not tried that yet. One thing to watch out for, which rules out a 5 star rating from me, is that when the blanket is set to the ‘off’ setting, the controller itself gets warm - so it is obviously using energy whilst in off mode. To be fair, the instruction booklet does say you need to disconnect from the mains when not using, but this is a pain to do every time you want to start or stop a blanket session - especially if the wall socket is hard to get to e.g. behind furniture.

My mum had received one of these for a Christmas gift. I was also offered one but declined because I didn’t think I would use it. How wrong I was! After trying it once I was on Amazon straight away. The heated blanket is like slipping into a warm bath. I am a naturally cold person and most nights I cannot wait to get under my blanket in front of the telly. It’s such a joy. The heat settings are good with a range from 1 to 6. 6 is too hot, 3 or a 4 being optimum. Obviously the parts of the blanket with the heating element get the hottest, but it seems fairly well distributed and so hot spots can be avoided in the main. There is a timer function with auto shut off so you can choose between an hour, 3 hours or 9 hours. The feel of the blanket is a lightweight and soft fleece. It can be washed in the machine if you unplug the control and is not too bulky to put through a washing machine at home. I believe that there is a more expensive blanket with a ribbed design which is a little more bulky but I am happy with this one. As soon as I get this out the dog jumps up on the sofa in readiness. He knows what’s good. I believe that this doesn’t consume much energy and so can be a God send in homes without much heating, or for the elderly or ill who feel the cold. I’ve had it a good long while now with no issues. It seems safe although I always unplug when done. Recommend to all.

Good idea and feels very safe. I have found it needs to be on 4 at least to feel warm but generally a lovely cosy warm blanket hopefully costing very little
