What audio input devices does the BlipBlox synthesizer interact with?

The Blipblox has an 1/4" Monophonic audio output.  This is the same kind of plug that is used with professional guitars, synthesizers and drum machines.  It plugs directly into professional audio mixers, guitar amplifiers and computer audio interfaces. How would i connect a usb midi keyboard controller?

The Blipblox requires an external keyboard that has a 5-pin DIN MIDI OUT port.  Some keyboards are designed exclusively to interface with a computer, and those often only have a USB-MIDI port.  You won't be able to play the Blipblox with a keyboard that only has USB-MIDI.  The Blipblox uses 5-pin DIN MID because that is the standard on professional music equipment like drum machines, sequencers and groove boxes. The Blipblox comes with a universal USB cable that can be plugged into any standard USB to AC or USB plug that goes directly into the wall or a car.

Can headphones be used with this?  My son would love it, but I can already see that we wouldn't enjoy his creations over and over....

The Blipblox is a real synthesizer, and as such it can create sound with a wide dynamic range.  Because of this, Playtime Engineering discourages headphone use by children.
