Skeptical But Now a Convert
I was definitely skeptical when I first discovered this product, but given I was sick of changing my rear tire - which for some reason was particularly difficult on my new bike - I thought I'd give this a go. Like many others, I find my tire shows lots of wear from the trainer. I'm pleasantly surprised how well the tape holds up. I usually get four or so sessions out of it. I'm sure it would last longer, but I need to remove the tape for my weekly outdoor rides. It's important to note that while the instructions guide you to double wrap the tape, I don't do that... nor do I use alcohol wipes or anything else before adding the tape. I simply wipe the major grime off with a rag, then place the tape on. It's shockingly easy to apply. While your bike is already on the trainer, place one end of the tape on the tire and manually spin the wheel while you lay the tape in place. I do stretch it a little so it's nice and tight on the tire and that seems to help. I'm surprised how well it places cleanly in the center of the tire without any fiddling on my part. My only gripe about the tape is the price. For those of us that are hitting the trainer and road fairly frequently, I can see the cost of the tape adding up pretty quickly. $10 would be a great price so hopefully as this product gains some traction and volume, the price will come down.

I've been pleased overall using this product
I've been pleased overall using this product. It's easy to apply and I've gotten around 10 hours of cycling on each application. I don't have any issues with slipping on the tire either. I noticed some crackling of the tape as I approached the 10 hour mark - which was small areas cracking - signifying to change the tape. You can visualize and/or hear this. I have size 700 tires and still have a lot of tape left after two changes. I would expect to get 4 - 5 more changes out of the roll. As far as how my tire looks after 20+ hours using the trainer tape, I don't note any uneven or excess wear. Highly recommend for those who do not want to invest time or money in a trainer tire.

I've got a few hours on it now and it has been riding real nice with no slipping
This stuff is legit. I've got a few hours on it now and it has been riding real nice with no slipping. My tire from winter got to the point where washing it wasn't doing anything and tightening it down so it wouldn't slip was too much. It was either find a new tire or slap some of this tape on. It's been working well. One tip is to make sure you put it on tight, stretch it as you run it along the tire. Then ride it for a mile casually to correctly have the tape apply to the tire. Do not do any sprints or power meter calibrations until you ride a few miles or the tape may just warp and come off. Just ride it, then it should be fine after a mile or so.

Don't waste your money on this.
Doesn't stick to the tire. Put new tape on clean Michelin Pro4 several times, trying everything from light tension (tape bunches up) to high tension (tape comes of wheel). No adhesive quality. The adhesive is barely noticeable, which I attribute as the root cause.I'm going with trainer tires. I don't want the headache of changing tires, but this is definitely NOT and option.

Fails miserably at high speeds and wattage
This product is nothing more than glorified electrician’s tape. It does not perform as advertised and can, potentially, make a mess of your trainer’s tire roller. The tape does not hold up at high speeds and high wattage. I have attached photos depicting how the tape failed at high speeds during two different applications (employed exactly as directed). I’ve experienced at least three major issues: 1) Once relatively high wattage is maintained (e.g., above 550 watts), the tape may wrinkle or become dislodged from the wheel (see photo) 2) At high speeds, the tape heats up, expands, and eventually rips. This is especially true if your tire contains any seams or deep tread. At high resistance, the tape will be pushed hard against the seams or into the tread by the trainer roller, resulting in a tear (see photo) 3) Finally, if you decide to remove the tape, a sticky residue remains on the tire, which is transferred to the trainer roller. The residue is fairly easy to remove from the trainer roller with a glue/tar solvent, but it’s difficult to remove from the tire, which simply continues to contaminate the roller with subsequent use.Amazon sells heat-resistant tape designed for household and other applications that would probably work better (or just as poorly).

Works great for me!
The tape has worked well for me. I have used it for a year now, with no problems. It preserves my tires and keeps the heat down. My tires connect well to the trainer. I'm on my second roll of tape. However, I notice that riders complain of problems at high wattage, and I'm focused more on exercise than racing. I wonder if that is the problem for them. I have no problems at my speed, which is 18 mph average on Zwift.

Total rubbish
No Stars would be accurate. Cleaned tire and wrapped carefully. Lasted less than 60 seconds before peeling off an wrapping around hub and brakes. Attempted 3 times, same result. 700x35 Bontrager select invert hybrid tires. Don't waste your time.

Awesome!
This works great during the summer months when I need to use my liquid trainer, but don't want to go through the trouble of putting the trainer tire on. Gives a smooth ride and my treads are not destroyed.
