She is the author of numerous books on both the practice and history of magic, plus mythology, folklore and witchcraft. In late 2000 she co-founded the StarStone Network with David Rankine, which was dedicated to the study of Initiatory Witchcraft, Ceremonial Magic and the Mysteries of Hekate. With him she co-authored Hekate: Liminal Rites (2009), a compendium of magical practices historically associated with Hekate. With contributions from students, friends and practitioners from around the world she compiled Hekate: Keys to the Crossroads (2006) and Hekate: Her Sacred Fires (2010). In 2010 she wrote the Rite of Her Sacred Fires, a simple devotional ceremony which has become a worldwide annual celebration in honour of Hekate, celebrated at the Full Moon of May each year by many hundreds of people and now translated into 30 languages. Review: Amazing research - bad editing - This book has a LOT of research about Hekate and her worship in Ancient Greece. It covers the cultural, anthropological, archeological, architectural and linguistic facets of the Hekate cult. There are lots of images of the various archetypes found in those sites as well. So in terms of the information you get - it’s phenomenal. But the editing is very poor. There are too many spelling and grammar mistakes in this one. And it hurts readability. This book does not cover the myths of Hekate and instead focuses on only the ethnographic reality of the practices surrounding her. So it’s not a book for beginners, rather for people who already know about Hekate and want to learn more. This is the first in the series of three books on Hekate worship. Review: One of the best books about Hekate out there - This is an excellent book. I have read Hekate’s Liminal Rites, and I’m currently working through this book and Brannon’s “Keeping Her Keys”. Circle for Hekate is, easily, my favorite book I've read about the Goddess so far. It is super information dense, but it expands on Hekate’s Liminal Rites. I definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for academic, historically-accurate information about Hekate.
