Q: Will this work with an insulated tube?

If the circumference of the insulated tube is thicker than the normal tube, not without pinching it quite a bit. You could possibly soak the tube holder in warm/hot water and carefully increase the circumference of the holder, but that would be at your own risk of breakage.

Q: Maximum sternum webbing width?

It just barely fits ¾” webbing.

Q: Which piece of this product is magnetic? Try touching both parts to the bigger end of an iPhone or Android cable and see which one sticks.

Both pieces are magnetic. Individually each one will attract to metal. Both had good attraction but the piece that goes on the drinking tube itself seemed to be a little stronger when tested. They are significantly more attracted to each other than other metals.
