How do you put it on because the first time i tried it it didn't stay on and i don't want to keep messing up the one i have

Clean and dry your hands and the face of your watch, very carefully, line the curve up on one side and let it drop lightly/softly so you can pick it up easily if it is not in the desired spot. If everything it clean and dry, and you're not too rough, you can move it a number of times to get it right.

Is it round for the 42mm or you have to cut it to fit?
