No you don’t have separate wash and rinse compartments, but I like to change water after each room and go back and rinse at the end so it does not matter to me. It comes with several extra heads if you desire to change for rinsing, baseboards or walls. And wiping walls and baseboards is easy as the mop locks in place for this task. To unlock, press with foot. To spin dry, make sure mop is level, (press with foot) unlock handle, and move handle up and down to the desired level of dryness. I like it extra dry for hardwood and not as dry for porcelain, lock the handle at the comfort length to mop. The spin feature is easy to remove and place in a tub or sink for cleaning or use if you need that. There is a drain hose on the bucket, wheels and a handle. I have 2 concerns though - 1) the bucket handle: it doesn’t seem like it’s going to hold up very well. 2) the mop head turns when it comes into contact with the baseboards, making cleaning along the floor edges pretty impossible - I contacted the company about this and they requested a video, which I tried to send, but the system kept telling me the file type wasn’t supported. I use an iPhone which isn’t an uncommon device, the video file should have been compatible. They requested “still” pictures which doesn’t show the problem.
