It is appropriate for children age two and up. I have several four and five hear olds that love this toy!! Although they have mastered it, they continue to play with it, trying to beat their time to completion. I would say it is most appropriate for children four to twelve years old. I like this toy because it is sturdier than the other "name brand" maze balls. **Q: Can you compare/contrast with Perplexus offerings?
