Cats love this food.
Our cats love this food. Really good quality food. Our cats race to get to their food when we pour it. Great ingredients for the cats, did research and found this was one of the better foods.

So far, so good…
I recently switched from Beyond to Wellness. I like it better and my two cats seem to as well. First, I like the small kibble. It was also recommended in online cat food reviews, because of ingredients (like actual meat being at the top of the list) and the lack of unhealthy ones. The smaller kibble that Wellness has is important to me because of one of my two cats. Baxter has a baby doll face—the smushed face. He’s the cat version of a Pug, I guess. I included a pic of him. But, he struggles to eat big pieces of food. What I don’t like about this food is the low fiber content. However, I mix this with Iams Proactive Health Indoor Weight and Hairball Care (Salmon). This specific blend of Iams also gets good reviews for budget cat food and has higher fiber content, important when you have long-haired cats like I do. So, the fiber thing balances out. I feed my two cats wet cat food daily as well. They seem to be getting along well on Wellness and like the taste. There are so many choices of cat food out there now it is confusing and overwhelming, at least it has been for me. The cost, like many things, has also skyrocketed. It was a difficult decision that I thoroughly researched. My two cats are part of our family. I want to feed them well, but I do not have unlimited income. Wellness and the Iams have been a good option for us. They’re reasonably healthy and priced compared to other brands. I chose this version of Wellness compared to the grain free or Wellness Core due to my vet’s advice. He said he felt grain free food was a gimmick like so many ploys they use to reel consumers in with pet foods. Ultimately, the vet said cats eat grains in the wild. They do this through the animals they kill and consume. For example, if they hunt and eat rabbits in the wild, rabbits eat grains. They are getting grains through their prey. This was a few years ago, but the vet also said that there had been studies on dogs. There was a connection between grain free diets and heart disease. He went onto say that it was a safe bet that the same findings would come out with cats. The grain free version is also more expensive, so it’s a win win. I hope you found this review helpful.

Great ingredients!!!
My cat is 8-9 months old and she was just spayed her vet recommended switching from a more calorie dense kitten food to a less calorie dense adult food. Switching foods is always tricky espically if your cat is picky but my Goose took to this really well when i started mixing it into her old food. This brand has high quality ingredients and meat as the #1 ingredient, no animal by products so i feed this to my girl knowing shes got a healthy and complete diet!

Quality high. Cost high too.
This is probably the best quality food for indoor cats. I had to stop buying the Kirkland brand as suddenly all of my cats started puking and refused to eat their dry food. The Kirkland cat food smelled rancid (both bags) and the texture had changed. I suspect they had degraded the quality of the food to maintain the low price when inflation struck the USA. I had no choice but to look for something healthier. All the cats look and act much healthier, love the food, and rarely vomit. But, the big trade-off for me, on a limited budget, was the extremely high price of this food compared to almost anything else on the market. It is ridiculously expensive and only sold in small quantity packaging. There are no large bags available for catteries or owners who have 4 or 5 cats to feed. The bags are also very difficult to extract the food from as they do not open fully without having to cut off the sealing feature. This means you have to scoop out small quantities of half a cup because you cannot pour it out, and the opening is not big enough for a standard cup to fit. My 5 cats eat together from one dish, so it takes more time to prepare their meal than it takes for them to eat it.

Picky Cat LOVES this food
I tried a number of dry cat foods when my cat was younger and this one was BY FAR her favorite. The pieces are also small enough for cats to bite easily but still crunchy.HIGHLY recommend!!

Food smells awful and kitten won't eat it
I just adopted a three month old kitten and thought I'd start her on this Wellness kitten food.I have fed my dogs Wellness food in the past and was happy with it. I trusted the brand. However, when I opened the bag of kitten food, I immediately noticed how odd it smelled. I know all pet foods don't smell the same, but this one had a very off-putting, sour chemical odor, almost like burning plastic. Is that normal for this food? The bag was not expired: I purchased in July 2025 and the expiration date is November 2025.I put some of the food out for my kitten because I couldn't get to the store until the next day. She refused to eat it!I bought her a different brand of food, which smelled normal, and she devoured that one.
