Outstanding PM2 – CruWear and Micarta Make It Even Better
I’ve owned several quality folders over the years, and the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 CruWear Micarta C81MPCW2 is easily one of the best combinations of materials and design Spyderco has produced. Right out of the box the knife arrived razor sharp with excellent fit and finish. The blade centering is perfect, the action is smooth, and the compression lock engages solidly with no blade play. Spyderco’s ergonomics really shine here—this knife feels incredibly secure and comfortable in hand. The CPM-CruWear steel is a fantastic choice for a working knife. It strikes a great balance of toughness, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. For anyone who actually uses their knives rather than just collecting them, CruWear is a superb performer. The canvas micarta handles are another highlight. They feel warm and natural in the hand and provide excellent grip. Compared with standard G-10, the micarta adds a premium touch and should develop a nice patina over time. Overall this is a near-perfect EDC knife: lightweight for its size, incredibly capable, and built with top-tier materials. If you like the Paramilitary 2 platform, the CruWear/micarta version is a fantastic upgrade. Highly recommended.

Im a Spyderco hater
I've always hated Spyderco knives. I hate the stupid hole. I hate how the stupid blade looks like a stupid triangle. I hate the stupid logo. I hate the stupid tacticool bro fanbase. I've always seen people talk about how good the pm2 was and rolled my eyes. Enjoy your stupid holey triangle knife, bro. Until the other day. I've seen 100 videos talking about how cool the pm2 is or how it's a great edc and never wanted one. Then for whatever reason.. I did. I decided to buy one. I'd hate it, return it, feel justified. Cruwear? Micarta? Sure. I'll try it. Sign me up. Let me tell you... this is a nearly perfect knife. The hole still looks stupid, but it is functional as hell, offering myriad opening options both practical and fidgety. The triangle blade still looks stupid but provides ergonomics to get a lot of grip and control on the knife. Combined with the handle, this knife feels both nimble and strong. The logo still looks stupid and I can't do anything about the tacticool bros, but.. dang this knife is really good. I was wrong. Fantastic knife. The only legitimate complaint is the clip. Idk who the clip is designed for but for me it was awful. Too stiff, not deep carry, and who the heck defaults to tip down in 2026? Still, easy fix as there are myriad clip and other customization options for this knife. Oh, it's comfortable, fits nicely in the hand, and light for what it is. Anyway. Yeah. Fantastic knife. Been carrying it a couple weeks now and no complaints. Got my personal preferences I like carrying the bug out more (almost no weight, completely disappears even in athletic shorts) but the pm2 is overall a far superior knife. Idk if I'm a Spyderco fan or not, but I'm not a hater anymore, and definitely a pm2 fan. Give it a try.

The one that started it all for me…
If the Para 3 is edc king this PM2 wins every where else. A serious work knife in the right hands if your work involves cutting and slicing. Its not a pry bar so don't pry with it. It’s closer to the scalpel rather than to the hatchet side of the family. The tip is an absolute laser pointer. Cruwear is one my most favorite steels, it maintains the fine sharpness for a very long time and then strops right back. The only place I found it lacking was in the quality of the Micarta on the handles, very thin and not seasoned at all. It becomes dirty within minutes of you handling it. I like my Micarta oiled and seasoned. Overall a great value at this price. This was my first Spyderco and now I have close to ten, should tell you everything you need to know.

My "dream" knife, almost always in my pocket.
CPM Cru-Wear Steel is a joy to have as it cuts all day and stays sharp, and when you need to, it is very easy to re-sharpen it to where you want it. I always get a good positive lock up with the blade, never a problem, and it just doesn't seem to weigh anything in my pocket. Cru-Wear also doesn't seem to rust or get a patina on it, at least mine hasn't, and I live in Florida, not too far from salt water fishing at anytime. That being said, I am one of those "clean my tools up" at the end of the day people, so it always has a thin film of full synthetic air tool oil on it, and it doesn't stay in the bowl with my key fob and wallet as long as some of my other knives might. The scales are linen micarta, like the feel of an old pair of jeans. For me, they hold up better than most other types I've had. Some "micarta" scales that others sell are as hard and slick as marble, but they were technically micarta from the process use to make them, so you need to check up on the different brands on one of the knife blogs or reviews. The only "thing" with a Para Military 2 is it will be a bit long in the pocket, so I don't carry much more than a car fob in the same pocket, but that's why you buy this knife anyway, for it's size. I bought mine right when it dropped, and other than changing the angle and edge to a very steep chisel grind, and no second bevel, the only wear is the staining of the scales to a darker look, which you can clean back to the "brand new" look I've heard, but I like the darker look because it's a working knife, not something to collect dust on a display shelf. I have a picture from when the Para Military was newish, and I did a side by side with a Spyderco Tenacious with a M4 steel blade, and G10 scales. Don't have a clue why I didn't take a picture with the blades open, but that's life. Just a side note, the Spyderco Para Military 2 with the Cru-Wear Steel Blade and Premium Micarta scales has sold so well, and was the first for Spyderco to have both together in a production knife, that the good folks at Spyderco and their hard core customers dubbed it the" Cru-Carta", and Spyderco has made a huge investment in a bunch of their other standard knives, with the same winning combination of Micarta scales with Cru-Wear blades for the new "stock" knives dropping in 2025, and those new knives are selling just as fast as the one that started it all, your Spyderco Para Military 2, so yeah, it's a great knife for work, or to have just for show. Remember, have fun, but always be safe when you're doing it.

High quality extremely sharp right out of box
Fantastic high quality everything top-notch and the sharpest blade right out of the box I have ever seen very light weight disappears in the pocket even though it's on the larger side for EDC tight lock up no movement but still easy one hand operation feels great in the hand very happy with product and seller

Perfect
This is for the Cruwear PM2 with micarta scales: The only thing I can really say is that everything about this knife was perfect. No blade play, blade was centered, and opening and closing are almost effortless. There is no lock stick. The micarta scales are a little more polished than I would like, but they still have a good texture. More companies should offer micarta scales for folding knives. It came scary sharp. This is the sharpest blade out of the box I have ever had. I always put my own edge on a new knife, but I will use the factory edge until it needs touching up. The grind is even and consistent. There is nothing to hint the edge was overheated during sharpening. It isn’t as heavy as you think it would be, and carries decently with the stock clip. I added a Lynch clip and it works much better. I own a fair amount of Spyderco knives (Dragonfly through Shaman) and this is the best knife I have received. I like the keen edges carbon and tool steel take. I have knives in Rex45, K390, and M4. I have a Temperance in Cruwear and I really like it. I’m glad to get a folder in it. I highly, highly recommend this knife if know the steel, want to try the steel, or like micarta scales. It is a beautiful, functional knife.

It is that good. Highly recommend.
The Cru-Carta PM2 is just awesome. Everybody should have at least one in their collection. The blade is great and the Micarta handle is super comfortable. The color took a bit for me to get used to but it definitely grows on you. Highly recommend this knife and also, it's a smart move to buy specifically from the seller Onkata. They are an authorized Spyderco dealer and they have treated me well many times. I trust them, whereas I have had trouble with other sellers.

Veramente stupendo
