Q: Is this a signal generator or a signal detector?

Hello and thank you for reaching out to us. This is the protection boot for the signal generator and spectrum analyzer. The signal generator will create a signal and the spectrum analyzer will read the frequency of the signal you are sending from the signal generator. I hope this helps.

Q: Does it work with the newer 6-button Plus models?

Hello, unfortunately the RF Explorer Protection Boot does not fit on the Plus model Spectrum Analyzers. I hope that this helps.

Q: What does the top of the case look like? will it fit the rf explorer ism combo that has antenna on both sides?

Hello and good morning. The RF explorer protection Boot has two cut outs for the SMA antennas slots. It will work with the ISM Combo. I hope that this helps.

Works well but charger hole in the wrong place

This must have been made for an older version of the RF Explorer. The charge/usb hole is on the bottom but the port is on the side of the device so you either have to cut a hole in the protector boot or take it off when charging or connected to the PC.Not a big deal but it is a bit aggravating.
