This is a very nice Toaster overall.
This is more like a Cadillac then a Rolls Royce for toasters. But it's sleek, elegant, nice looking, very study, heavy duty, and perhaps well made. Time will tell how well made it is. But after bagels and bread, it's work pretty good for me. I like the defrost button, that works well for my frozen bagels. I used the defrost and the bagel button together and it works well. With the slider in the middle between 3 and 4, this works well for me. I looked at dozens of toasters, even images on Google, and I read tons of reviews. As far as I can tell, this is perhaps the best choice for the money, although a bit pricey now, I paid less. However it seems really solid and the outside does not get hot, except near the very top. The biggest beef with toasters, and that includes nearly all of them I have read reviews from, just about every brand, they all complain that the bread is never heated evenly. I won't go out on a limb here and say this one does, but it works well enough for me. I didn't see any huge disparaging synonyms that my bagels or bread were zebra striped with dark spots and light spots. I think you just have to test it and adjust the settings, and with a little tender loving care, you can get by ok. I don't believe any toaster is perfect in this regard, but this one seems to do a fair job. There are a few toasters that cost many, many hundreds of dollars, and why waste money like that? This one is a bit pricey, and the Brand name is well known, so a another reviewer said, this is probably as good as it gets! Slots are long and wide enough for just about any slice of bread, French, Sour Dough, or otherwise! Update: It's true that the bread does burn faster at the very bottom of the toaster. What I do is flip the bread or bagel half way through to insure it does not toast unevenly. The results are good if you flip it. I am not sure why this happens, but I can see the wires at the bottom become more red and hot then the wires in the middle. This might be similar to what some electric heaters do sometimes. It seems some parts of the wires are hotter then other parts, maybe closer to where the conduction starts. Rather then a design flaw, maybe it's a bit of technology they haven't quite fixed yet. My old toaster West Bend, had solid plates installed in front of all the conduction wires. This insured that the heat was distributed evenly over all parts of the bread, and it toasted bread perfectly. Also this prevented electric shock from touching the wires with a stainless steel knife. However, it did not come in long slot size, but came as a 4 slice toaster with a poached egg attachment. The West Bend was good for about two years, then it gave out.

Amazing and incredibly versatile toaster
This is hands down the best toaster I've ever owned. I was looking for a very versatile toaster that would handle a wide variety of bread sizes and also bagels. I frequently purchase artesian breads that are longer and sometimes thicker than normal packaged breads, and this toaster handles everything I've tried. And this includes toasting bagels perfectly. And on this topic, there is a bagel setting (along with defrost and normal) so only one side of the bagel will toast - it warms the other side. I however am an odd duck and like both sides toasted, so by not selecting the bagel setting, both sides will toast. It will easily accommodate two slices of "normal" bread in each slot. And there are heating elements on both sides of each slot, but again, in the bagel mode, the elements on only one side of each slot glow red when you depress the bagel mode. I can't imagine anything one would want to toast that this toaster couldn't handle. I am very pleased with how it toast as well. Very evenly, or as evenly as one could hope for. A little browner around the edges, which I love, but pretty uniform overall, and fine for my tastes. There are 7 darken position on a very easy to use slider. There is nothing flimsy or poorly designed with this toaster. The slider is well made as well as the toast lever. There is another feature I really like and that is a "cancel" button that you can depress if you want to end the toast cycle and raise the bread so you can remove from the toaster. And the crumb tray slides out easily so you can easily clean crumbs out of the toaster. The slots measure 10" long x 1 9/16" wide and it is just over 5" deep. With these measurements you might expect this toaster to be rather large, and it is. It takes up a fair amount of the cabinet work surface. But it is a very attractive toaster - solid chrome with attractively designed buttons on the side along with the darken slide lever. It's not the cheapest toaster on the market, but for what you get I think it's a great value. I highly recommend.

I call it the Greyhound Bus
I like my toast very well cooked, almost burnt. On its highest setting I can get that with 4 slices of bread. If only two slices it burns them a little more. Like I said I like that. This is a solid product with an easy to remove crumb tray. Temperature is adjustable, but really who ever does that? You pick a setting and pretty much leave it there. I love the look of this thing, big, long and CHROME. I don't care what anyone says, chrome just works better than stainless. Easy to clean and doesn't get weird spots like SS does sometimes. The only thing I don't like about this is that the cord is very short and comes out the front. I routed mine underneath to the back and held it in place with a twist tie. It works OK. All in all this is one of the better toasters I have owned. And you can't beat that super wide slot, everything always fits! I wrote this review after living with it for 6 months so its not one of those dopey "I just opened the box and it looks great!" reviews which I think are worthless. I like this toaster.

Great toaster, great price. Does what it says and looks nice
I love this toaster, it does get hot to the touch ( metal will do that). While in use it does get hot above slots about 8" so i wouldn't put anything above or against it. Probably a good rule of thumb for any toaster though. Cleans easy with a damp cloth or some vinegar dilluted. Looks nice and holds my homemade bread easily. As some people have said it does seem to toast more on one side than the other (as if it's on the bagel setting, it wasn't) but it works good enough toasting in my opinion. Takes several minutes to toast ( depending on setting) so make some coffee while you wait or eggs ... Whatever your fancy. The cord ( 3') comes out the front where the settings are. On the underside there are guided cord storage prongs, you can run the cord along and make the cord come out on another side if you prefer. I have mine part way as I don't need a bunch of extra cord hanging out on my counter. Anyway, heres some pictures....

Toasts Great !
We have only had this toaster for a few days and I felt inclined to comment on it. PROS. 1) It's really nice looking on the counter 2) Your able to not only toast Artisan/ Fresh backed bread, but you can toast two English muffins or two bagels at the same time. On setting 4. 3) It toasts everything fairly evenly.........we don't expect "perfect toast". I'm in my 60's and have never owned a toaster that toasted perfectly even.......come on ! 4) The cancel feature is great. We use to have to manually lift the toaster arm to stop the toasting process on all the other toasters. CONS. 1) The cord should be in the back of the toaster and not in the front. I don't know what engineer thought that one out ?? 2) Wish there were other color options. Followup: I've had the toaster awhile now and it was purchased to primarily toast Artisan style bread and it has not disappointed us in that regard. It has, however, become a challenge trying to figure out the Bagel setting. As instructed, we pushed the toaster lever down and then pressed the Bagel button and we ended up with the Bagel still toasted on the outside. The work around to get the perfect result was as follows: 1) lower the lever 2) wait a minute or so to see the outside elements heat up and then press the Bagel button. Doing this seems to shut off the outside elements entirely during the toasting process. We set the browning lever at 2 for Bagels and Artisan bread and 4 for English muffins with great success. Hope this helps those with Bagel toasting issues.

BROKE IN LESS THAN A YEAR
I liked this toaster just fine when I first got it. I purchased because of the long slots and sleek look and it did it's job (though toasted a little bit unevenly). It was expensive but seemed worth it and I thought it would last a long time. Unfortunately, the toaster completely stopped working only 13 months after I purchased it! I had a cheap one for a good 10 years before this one before it broke mind you. I wasn't totally turned off because it has a 3 year warranty at least. Apparently I should not have been so trusting of Cuisinart! I have now been waiting over 3 MONTHS for a replacement toaster (which is a huge issue since I use a toaster daily)!! I have called Cuisinart customer service 5 TIMES so far trying to get a replacement. I have been told 3 TIMES that I would get a call back from a manager and have never gotten a call back. Earlier today, when on the phone for the 5th time, I was FINALLY offered an alternative toaster since i've been waiting for months for this one to arrive. While looking at the alternative option (which is cheaper and uglier) to see if it was acceptable, the rep HUNG UP on me (I told her I was looking at the product and had only been silent for about 2-3 minutes). I now finally have an inferior cheaper product coming (theoretically) which should arrive in 10-15 business days. I am skeptical that it will actually arrive and even if it does, this 1 star review still stands since I had an $80 toaster break in a year, didn't get it replaced as required under the warranty, have had to wait over 3 months with no toaster, and am getting an inferior product as a "solution."

Did not live up to the hype reviews
1/20/22 update Sadly, this toaster did not even make it to a two year anniversary before the inside wiring started to burn out. One side of the toast isn’t bad, the other side burned to a crisp. But only in the middle. So if you have toast that you can maneuver around the burn area of the wiring, you might actually get a decent piece of toast. I am moving this from three stars down to one star. I did not expect this toaster to last 20 years, but I thought I would get decent performance for at least two years.I did extensive research before this purchase. Specifically we were looking for a toaster that would be flexible in size, easy to clean, and actually toasted bread - sounds silly but sometimes some of the toasters are just terrible and they take five minutes to make a slice of toast. From a flexibility perspective, this toaster does indeed do two nice size slices in each side. Since I make homemade bread a lot, this was important to me. So I like the flexibility in size for it. It’s very nice in terms of the lift if it’s a short slice of bread. That works quite nicely. One thing that surprised me was that it heats both sides up at once. There’s only one mechanism to control the entire toaster. That’s a biggie but I didn’t think about that. As far as temperature control, this is a very different toaster. We had a hard time finding the sweet spot for the bread because you must set mine all the way down on the lightest possible setting otherwise I burned my bread. And it didn’t matter what kind of bread I was toasting. I can’t imagine ever using this on anything other than extremely light. Trust me, we started in the middle and incinerated our first toast to the point where was black and had to be thrown away LOL I think the thing that really caused me to give it a three star rating was cleaning. The design of the crumb tray is really poor. It’s very shallow and it seems that crumbs fall outside of that tray even when it is properly in place. If we move the toaster even a fraction of an inch we end up with crumbs all over our countertop. So we literally have to clean the toaster every time we use it. We noticed the other day that we were making toast and it smelled like it was burning but we already cleaned the tray. So my husband took the toaster, removed the tray, and then shook it out over our sink. I’ve never done that with a toaster before. We wound up with a tablespoon of crumbs that were attached to the grids inside that never made it down to the crumb tray. See photo. At the price point for this toaster, there are a lot of alternative out there. This was so highly rated for toasting artisan bread. In all honesty, I wish I could go back to my old toaster. It was more difficult to toast artisan bread but we were happy with its performance and cleaning.

Easy to clean, easy to use, functional & reasonably priced, my Cuisinart CPT-2400 is really cool. 5/5
I have not had a toaster for years, maybe decades. I never ate that much toast and when I did I used to fire up the over to make it ... real overkill and time-consuming. A toaster also takes up a lot of space on the counter if you do not use it a lot. Well, I finally decided to break down and buy one. I got a cheap one at first, but the slots were too narrow for the bread I like, so I had to send it back. The Cuisinart CPT-2400 is big, but it is beautiful, streamlined and works well. Mine does not as some have reported toast bread unevenly on both sides. It does seem like one side is a very tiny bit less toasted than the other side, and I don't know why that is, but it is not a problem. The slots are very wide. You could if you wanted to put two Eggo Frozen Waffles in each side and toast 4 at a time if you wished to. A few of things to note though: 1. You have to slowly and deliberately pull down the toaster handle and hold it firm to lock it. Some people complained about that. It is not a big deal, but you do have to make a tiny effort to lock the handle down. 2. If you want to pop the toast up you press the blue button and the top of the button array. It is nice and easy, but I think if you pull the handle it might eventually break the mechanism - so don't. 3. The slots are so nice and large that if you cannot reach the bread you can pull the handle up a bit and push the bread out of the top - a nice feature. 4. The Cuisinart CPT-2400 is big like an old car from the 30's and it takes up a lot of space on the counter, but it is light and easy to move. Easy to clean, easy to use, functional and reasonably priced, my Cuisinart CPT-2400 is really cool and I can now enjoy toast again. 5/5

Not SG Voltage compatible
The toaster looks nice, but it’s 120v 60hz!!! Found out after checking the base of the unit. Nothing on the Amazon description, nothing on the box or the paperwork. Why sell this on Amazon SG? Just a waste of shipping and frustration to send it back

Getting used to our new toaster
Had to get used to the operation. Unlike our old toaster the elements did not glow but heat was being generated. At first we thought the toasted needed to have its control knob increased. This initially resulted in burning of the bread and bagels. We finally found the correct setting after trial and error but interestingly the elents do not glow as all our previous taster did. Perhaps there is a newer technology now incorporated in toasters to make them more energy efficient yet still toast as required. This was a slight learning curve for us but the toaster now works fine. Better instructions perhaps would have helped
