Exceptional mounting design, but cover for screws lets water in
This is a solid and well-thought out design with good materials. The best part is that the mounting plate has many holes and slots for a lot of flexibility in mounting. This means you can mount it into a stud with a higher probability of success and for a variety of angles..It feels very stable in the wall and in its own construction. Make sure to screw into a stud or ask a contractor to do it with the best anchors. Note that this does *not* include the fancy SecureMount anchor system, that is sold separately..I chose this model because of the mounting plate and because the covers to hide the screws looked a little more homey and not so industrial like the ones we see in public bathrooms. Unfortunately these covers have large gaps in them which, depending on your application and their angle, can collect some water. For use in a shower, I recommend sealing them up with clear caulk. Other than that, the design looks very nice and should fit with modern or classic bathroom decor..The screws it comes with are long and strong but the heads do tend to strip a little. I still used them. It also includes washers which is nice..I got one with the Curled Grip and one without. There isn't a functional difference. I like the look of the smooth one the best. If you are really concerned with grip-ability I would look for another design that is knurled..If you are installing this for a specific person, make sure to ask them their preferences!! A slight tilt (10-30 degrees) makes it much easier to grab and does not cause so much wrist strain. A 45 degree angle is not really necessary for many applications (like near toilet). Ask your loved one to sit or stand where the bar would be used and mark where their hand can reach and note the angles. This will make a big difference. I have had multiple surgeries and I learned this though first-hand experience. There are so many handicapped bathrooms and showers where the bars were just useless to me because I couldn't reach them..Overall, recommended and will likely buy again as relatives need them.

Installed without the custom security anchors by making sure both ...
Installed without the custom security anchors by making sure both ends were secure to studs. Had to track the studs down from above the shower tile surface, market with crayon and then drilled holes through the tile to the stud surfaces. This was somewhat time consuming but well worth it. Would use shorter bars next time.

Not CHROME! Flimsy
This is a falsely advertised product. It's stainless steel, not chrome. And the bracket hardware is paper thin (see penny next to bracket for comparison) and lacks any sort of promised durability. To grab the bar would require that you have a large hand.

Lovely
I was having knee replacement surgery and needed something secure in the shower. Many grab bars are so institutional looking, but this one is actually beautiful. Very shiny chrome, nice end pieces that attach to the wall. They look great and are very sturdy.

Good Buy
Installed in new bathroom. Looks great with a nice finish. Well made, feels substantial with grooves in the back that make it easier to hold. Very happy with this Moen product.
