Excellent assistance tool - for convenience or many disabilities.
Given that this is an assistance tool, my review is going to be pretty detailed.LOVE this thing. I don't have full use of one arm, and have arthritis in several fingers and a thumb, so while I need something like this, I wasn't sure if it would be that helpful for me. It is, though! It's got a great contour to the handle that compensates well for a relatively loose grip. It's wooden, but very very smooth with a light 'varnish' or whatever. Despite being wooden, it's extremely light in weight, but contoured so well that it's very strong. I have no trouble at all holding or using it.The head is a very interesting material to me. Nothing I've seen before. It's a tad over an inch thick. You can see either light grooves, or it may be layers of material. It's not absorbent at all, which is VERY nice both for not having it get real messy over time, and also not wasting lotion. It isn't, however, hard. It's firm but does have a bit of give to it when you push.I use Gold Bond diabetic relief lotion, for years now. It's not what I'd call real thick, but it isn't thin, either. It's "just right". I'm sure there are plenty of thinner lotions and they would likely roll/slide off this head easily, but the Gold Bond doesn't at all.Since the material isn't really absorbent, some of the lotion can get 'scooted' to the edges. That works out well because they're a bit rounded and they fit very well in the various shallows. The indent behind ankles, for example. It fits perfectly into that shallow there. I just do some leg or arm, and whenever a bit of lotion gets down along the sides, I just do one of the little hollow areas. Behind knees, behind ankles, inside elbows, right up next to shoulder blades, etc.In summary, I find this to be an excellent assistance tool, that will useful for many types of disabilities, or just simple convenience.I would like to see it have a hood type of thing. We have two dogs and a cat, and live a fur-filled life. Right now, I just tuck the head into a Ziploc sandwich bag, and that's working fine, but it isn't going to look very good.

Good for hard to reach areas
As I've gotten older, no matter that I stretch every day, the mobility in my shoulders is slowly decreasing. Now there's a patch right between my shoulder blades that I just can't reach to put lotion on. So, I bought this lotion-applicator-on-a-stick. And it really works well, just like I hoped. It's pretty lightweight, which is not hugely important for me, but might be a good thing for someone more impaired. I use a thick cream lotion, and the applicator spreads it smoothly on those hard to reach areas, without absorbing any, as far as I can tell. I was a little worried that the sponge might absorb lotion and get gross, but it doesn't seem to be a problem.

Easy to clean, works for me.
I bought this to put lotion on my back, because I have arthritis and fibromyalgia, and it works. The pad is a harder sponge than others, but that's OK, because then it doesn't soak up and waste all the lotion. Other people complained about the lotion or cream falling off....all you need to do is rub it around on the pad a little with your finger to spread it out like the size of a half dollar, then it won't fall off. You can't leave it in a lump, or as soon as you turn it over, it falls off. Since I was using it for just lotion a couple of times a day (not in the shower), I just put a ziplock bag over it, and hung it up, then washed it at the end of the day or every other day. Since it's not mushy soft, it doesn't get a lot of lotion in the pad, so it cleans really easily by just rubbing soap all over it, then rinsing thoroughly, and hanging to dry. I'm not sure I'd use it in the shower, because it's a harder pad and probably doesn't hold soap or body wash well. But just to apply lotion, it works for me. I guess it depends on what you want to use it for. It is disappointing that you can't change the pad, which would be helpful if you were going to use it for multiple things like the shower and a couple different lotions/locations, etc, or multiple people were going to use it. But for just lotion for one person, the pad will not wear out anytime soon, and for $7 bucks, I won't be upset about paying for a new one. Good product for a low price.

This helps reach where you want to reach
I first got one of these several years ago. It's great for putting lotion on my back and all it takes to clean it is a squirt of hand soap, some water, and a fast dry with a towel. A few weeks ago I pulled a muscle in my back and couldn't reach the area with the muscle rub, so I used the lotion applicator. It worked great for that as well. I've given several of these as gifts to friends and family and they use them to apply lotion, sun block, and, now, for muscle rub. The first one has lasted for at least 4 years with pretty much daily use and looks the same as the day I took it out of the box.

Well Made and Does the Job Nicely
Whenever I use my back scrubber I end up with a very itchy back. I don't know maybe it's an older age thing, since I don't remember my back itching like that in my youth. And being alone means I do not have someone to put lotion on my back - which is fine by me BTW, being a alone that is. So one of these is pretty much a necessity. Now I don't know why I waited so long to get one of these. It's awesome. Are there better ones? I don't know or care. This one works great. I can get my entire back from the top and sides with no problem. I saw some that have covers you can clean....seems like a pain to me. This one has very dense foam so it will not soak up the lotion, but it's soft enough to feel nice when in use. When I'm done I just wipe off the excess with the towel I used after my shower. Easy peasy. The handle is long enough and has a slight bend.If you don't have or want someone to apply lotion to your back, just get one of these. You can give it a name if it helps !!

Put lotions behind you!!
Excellent! this product is very helpful, it took me a couple of go's to master this, but it's great, to apply ointment's, lotions and such like, it's ideal. The "sponge" head has a smooth, softness to the touch, yet firm, it's able to be washed and dried easily, there is a piece of rope to the end of the handle, thus making it easy to hang, product arrived in ample time, was packaged well, recommend for those that have issues reaching some parts of the body.

Best lotion applicator!
I bought this item for a fiend who complained he couldn't get lotion in that one area on his back that a lot of people cannot reach! So I got him this gift. He thinks it's the best invention ever! He is very happy with this lotion applicator. The sponge is the perfect applicator since it doesn't absorb the lotion, it just applies it so there's no waste and you can just rinse and wash the sponge as needed. Thanks Kingsley!

Makes it easier to apply suncreen/creams
Works well to apply sunscreen/creams on back. So far the product has been fairly easy to clean. After I use it, I quickly wash the sponge and let it dry for the day. The following day, it's been good to go. I'd recommend the product. It's a bit pricy but it gets the job done. Seems like it will last.
