Great buzzard deterrent.
I bought this kite to help deter turkey buzzards. I live in the country. About 1/4 mile behind my property are power line towers where the buzzards roost. I put new roofs on my home, garage and shop last year and something about the new roofs attracted the buzzards. I was horrified one day when I heard something walking on my roof. I went outside to find around 50+ buzzards on my new roofs. If you don't know, buzzards will degrade a roof quickly with their talons and feces and once they start roosting somewhere, it is difficult to get rid of them. I put this kite up in my yard and the buzzards have left my property for the most part. I also have a pond which is another attraction. There were multiple days that I came home from work and found 50+ buzzards on my new roofs. I would clap, scream and they wouldn't budge. In the last year, the buzzards and only a few at that, less than 10 have been back. When I notice they are venturing back on my property, I will move the kite to a different location. I have ordered two of these because the string that comes with the kite is not that durable. The kite itself is made well. It has withstood the elements, sun, rain, snow, ice, heat and cold. It gets lots of wind and is up and down a lot and the kite is holding up great. One order did not have any string/twine at all in the box. The first one, the string wore thin from the constant movement and in a high wind storm that came up, the string broke and I never could find where the kite flew off to. The size is great. The pole that comes with it is very sturdy and has withstood the elements.I do have to go out there occasionally and unwind the twine from around the pole. If you are having problems with buzzards, this is a great value for the money to attempt to get rid of the buzzards. It has given me piece of mind to not come home and find buzzards on my new roofs!

I was Skeptical but this has been a god send
The media could not be loaded. This kite is amazing. We were losing a chicken or two a day to Hawks after the leaves all fell off and the weather started to stay cold and cloudy. I purchased this in October and it has been flying without issue since. We needed a solution. Out of the box this was entirely too short for our needs in Western Pennsylvania, however, I had a fly fishing pole and a section of hurricane fence top rail, along with a 3 foot length of rebar, so I was able to extend the height to well over 20 feet getting it both up high enough that it did not freak out the chickens, and so that it keeps the smaller predators away.I am trying to say, this thing is great, but you need a bit more equipment to make it absolutely awesome. You can get the extra fly fishing rod on Amazon as well, just search for B&M Blk Widow 5 Sect 16.5 Rigged' - BW5RR and that may be enough for you. Otherwise your local hardware store will have the top rail and the rebar for another probably close to $50 investment.I would say it is very durable because it survived a very cold and wet winter here. It flies super easily with the slightest breeze and I have seen it flying really high and taut in really tough winds. I was initially unsure if it would be worth the money but since it has now protected my chickens for half a year, and since I got it rigged up high enough, I have not lost a single bird; it is absolutely a good value for the money.

They work until they dont
Bought two kites, in less than a week both kites lost the plastic poles that keep their structures. One kite tore completely where the plastic pole enters. They work great until they don't work at all lol… the poles coming out can be fixed by adding super glue to the ends of the plastic poles before entering them into the kite, however the tearing is not fixable.Considering they are meant to be in the wind they should probably be able to withstand the wind.

No more bird poop!
The media could not be loaded. I asked for an exchange or return because the stick part was ripped. Someone had ripped it and returned it and then they sent it to me and I was not happy about that. But I decided to cancel the return because I like the kite part so much. No more bird poop on my deck furniture. I decided to keep the kite part and attach it to something else.

Finally found something that keeps our geese away!!
No geese it the yard yet this year!! Lake life is nice! But struggling with geese in your yard is awful. After purchasing this kite we haven’t had any geese in the yard yet. So far it’s well worth its weight in gold. I did have to shorten the string a little bit so it wouldn’t hit the ground. it is important to have the pole at an angle with the wind so the kite does not wrap around the post. Pretty easy to figure out the more you use it.

Pole broke
Worked well for scaring ducks off our dock. Unfortunately, the pole snapped in two during a high wind. We do get very strong winds off the lake. Ordered another one, so giving it another try.

Keeps birds off of boats
We bought it to keep birds off our boat. Works well. Can’t put it to close to the boat or it will hit it when it dives

Sturdy and fun to watch!
When the husband orders this I thought he was nuts! I love this thing ! It is near our garden to keep the critters from eating our plants and it seems to be working for that but it is also neat to just watch it fly around! We have had string winds last few days and it is still flying great ! Sturdy and easy to put together!
