I like them for what they're for... but the 'gun black' color is more like a metallic gunmetal with a slight silvery effect in the light .. and yes, it shines and is visible. I hoped the gun black color would blend more into my hair. I'm keeping them, they do the trick.

I have very fine hair and these Barrettes clips are the Best clips I've ever used! They stay in place, look great, and last forever. They have different color choices but these are my favorite. Will buy as long as I need. I love them and diffently recommend them.

These are so much more comfortable to use. They hold all day and work really well with thin, fine hair. I can actually use one and it holds a French twist when my hair gets in my way at work. My friend has much thicker, longer hair and loves how they hold her all of her hair much better than any other style Barrett. They seem very sturdy and the size is perfect.

I just received these and was excited to get them. I was sadly disappointed when I opened them to discover that the did NOT have any grip dots on them. I specifically asked prior to purchasing these to confirm and was told, by the seller, that they did in fact have the grip dots on them. The description also states they have grip dots. MY hair is VERY fine and straight. These are nice and comfortable, but in the 15 minutes that I have been wearing one, all of my hair has fallen out of the clip. I'm hoping to exchange these for what I actually ordered. Otherwise, I'm returning them! I will update my review once resolved. Also, other reviews mentioned bent or defective clips. I went through the entire pack and only 2 of them are bent. Which makes sense base on the way they are packaged. All 25 clips are stuffed into a box that is about 4"x3"x1/2". So, maybe the seller or manufacturer should consider better packaging to prevent damage. Overall, if you have thick, coarse, or curly hair, these will probably work. But if you have fine straight hair, without the grip dots, forget it! UPDATE: Increased from 2 stars to 3 stars. After going through the entire pack and discarding about 7 or 8 of them due to not clipping tightly, or being bent beyond repair, the remaining clips do actually hold quite tightly even though they do not have grip dots. As stated above, my hair is very fine and very straight and these do hold. The main reason I only gave 3 stars instead of 4 stars (the 5th star is long gone due to the number of defective clips in the package) is that they are very tight and somewhat difficult to clip. Not a major issue for myself, but could be a potential issue if using these for a child.

Who knew I needed these! My hair is growing out and I HATE having my hair wrap around my neck while I'm sleeping. I've had other snap clips before, but they never worked as good as these do. Wow! They hold my hair and nothing falls out. They are also very strong to open, but that's okay. Very happy with this purchase.

I love this style of barrettes. My hair is ridiculously thin and stick-straight, and it’s a nightmare trying not to lose hair accessories because everything slides right out. But not these! I don’t know why the three prongs make a difference where others fail, but these are not going ANYWHERE. I can even sleep with one in my hair and wake up with it exactly where it was when I fell asleep. I’m a huge fan!

Really strong grip on the hair, doesn't easily move or un-clip, but easy to get in place and clip. Good size too, you can grab a fair bit or hair with it. I had similar before with rubber coating, but found the rubber coating rubbed off in flakes, that's thankfully not a problem with these. I wish the colour was more 'hair coloured' and not as brightly rose gold as these are, but I'm being brave about it as long as they keep my fine neck hairs up under my pony/bun. I would instantly purchase if they made some in assorted hair colours, as these are really sturdy and simple.

My daughter has thick, slippery hair, and most clips won’t hold—but these are great! They don’t slip out and can hold a good section of hair. I can send her to school with them in, and they hardly move all day. I wish I had known about these sooner!
