I received this camera today, and unfortunately I've already packaged it back up to return it. I just needed a cheaper camera; I know that these kind of cameras tend to be a bit of a hassle. I've been using a similarly-priced Funlux WiFi camera for about six months, and it was hard to set up initially, too. However, once set up that camera has run perfectly for months on send. Unfortunately, this Dcam stopped working seconds after starting.It took a long time to figure out how to set it up because the instructions aren't in clear English. It did connect fine once I figured out where the reset button is (hidden behind the bendy tab on the back). It gave me a few fits, but setup went smoothly after that.The problem is, the camera has to be nearly on top of the WiFi router to work or the app will say that the network status is low and you can't get a connection. That's unreasonable, a wireless camera should be able to get a connection reasonably within one's home. When it did get a WiFi connection (by putting it literally right in front of the router), it showed abysmal connection speeds ranging from 20kbps to 1kbps. The video was perpetually frozen because the speeds were impossibly slow.I could have looked past that, though, since I was wanting this camera for its micro SD card slot. The problem is, the camera randomly shut itself off (the blue light on the front turned off), and I had no idea whether it was still functioning. The second problem is that the motion detection is garbage. I was moving in front of the camera, waving my hand, all sorts of stuff, and it only triggered sometimes. So using this as a security camera is out of the question, since I need to know that it will start recording when someone is nearby.I did give it two instead of one stars, though, because the design is pretty nice and I think it felt sturdy. It would look find sitting on a table somewhere.

Could not get it to work. We tried everything. Used a router with less than 5mhz speed as instructed, reset it per suggestions based on other reviews, tried connecting it to a different wifi, tried connecting it as close as possible to the router, different outlets etc. waste of time and money. Just beeps and won't connect.

This is great! There is a small blue light that shows from the front when it is plugged in whether it's in use or not. I had bought it, plug ged it in, and set it in my living room among some nic-nacs. I wasn't necessarily trying to hide it from anyone but my kids noticed it immediately! I bought it so that I could check on & speak to my pets during the day while I was working. While at work I would turn it on from my I-phone and I'd call my puppy and older dog's names & they'd go running into the living room to look for me. It's great in that regard but if you're trying to secretly record someone.. don't bother, they'll see the light.

The camera might work, might not. You'll never find out because the app won't "Smart connect" it to your router. Ever. I tried 46 times. The pairing noise really sucks too lol. You have to (try to) pair it for 60 seconds, then it fails. Yes 46 times at 60 seconds WAS a waste of 46 minutes of my life that I'll never get back.If only the product worked as good as the customer service. They literally refunded me and told me to keep it. I don't want it.

it worked out great in the beginning and all of a sudden it stopped working for no reason. never dropped or anything. I couldn't return it because it was pass the date I had it.

The video quality that the camera captures is really good but the app is terrible. App doesnt save your settings, is difficult to use and just ruined the experience. Ended up returning the camera.

It is not bad. What brings it down in reviews is a very confusing initial setup procedure.Investing a few bucks into a better manual should solve a lot of problems for the manufacturer
